Why are tutors important?

Teaching is an essential part of education. Most students succeed in life as a result of tutors’ impact. Through their tireless and frequent help, the mentor brings hope to many students. A tutor is someone who acts as a guide and inspiration to people – both young and old. So, why are they essential?

Tuition benefit students who need extra attention after class. Tutors provide skills that help students to improve on their academics. The frequent practice that tutors give to students can help them build on their knowledge during their formal classes in schools (Tsabar, 2012). Tutoring is essential in the world of academics; it is not a shame that a child may need a tutor.

Tutors personalize the learning of students and receive immediate feedback. This makes them understand their students better. Some teachers are usually very busy with teaching and sometimes may not give students enough time to internalize a given concept during the usual learning period. In that case, tutors can create adequate time to understand the need of each of their students. The more a student practice, the more he/she improves on skills and areas of weakness (Mendelsohn, 2013).

Consistent and effective tutoring helps students to reduce “non-productive” behaviors. The full interaction of tutors and students limits the following actions: the adverse effects of Internet access, addiction to mobile phones, television access, and time spent on social media. Tutors often provide mentorship programs to their students in different areas, through this process, students’ methods for classwork improve and later translate to quality grades (McGivney, 2006).

In conclusion, tutors are essential in the lives of many students. They can make students improve on classwork, their general approach to life and education through their advice. Tutors instill positive attributes on students and make them develop skills that help them improve their general approach to coursework. The best thing that students need when they fall behind, is not to assume that they can catch up with the rest of the class; the importance of a tutor is immense in the development of students with educational challenges.
