What Legacy
In the famous animal farm, all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. This was the proclamation that was depicted by the pig who was the controller of the government in the great novel ANIMAL FARM.
As George Orwell‘s metaphorically indicates using the song Comrade Napoleon, which praises Napoleon despite his failure to represent freedom, the exact scenario is depicted in our national leadership. This is especially so in the fight against corruption.
His Excellency the president would leave a great legacy in the fight against corruption if he ensures that he uproots all the tainted characters. Do you think the president has nothing to lose if he sacrifices Hon Waiguru? Will it make or break his legacy? Does Waiguru have a lot of influence on matters of national leadership?
In my opinion, just as I stipulated earlier, that let all animals be equal, the path that was taken to impeach governor Waititu should also apply for Gov Waiguru. This way, the president will redeem the confidence of the electorates in the fight against corruption especially after the appointment of Hon Kimunya as the N.A ML despite the famous scandal during the 10th parliament.
If Hon Waiguru is spared, will she able to deliver for the people of Kirinyaga? Her leadership has already been soiled. Remember the whole Country for the past few days has been glued on TV watching endless Waiguru Dramas as Wakili Ndegwa Njiru humbles the accused. Some will say, women leaders are being targeted, but does it mean once elected or appointed as a women leader one becomes immune to natural laws and our constitution? Of course no. Are there no other women leaders who are ethically and morally right to hold public offices? Your answer is as well as mine.
Let’s build a better nation as we do not have any other Kenya. Let us strengthen democracy and the rule of law. Moreso, let us apply the constitution without partiality of anti and pro individuals.
