Apple Inc. uses data representation graphics to explain its mission and analyze its strengths and weaknesses. The company uses a flow chart to describe its mission by showing hardware, software, services, and application software that it produces. The flow chart shows how the company has achieved its mission by changing the enterprise landscape. The flow also chart shows how Apple has maintained a balance in offering quality products and services. Furthermore, the report consists of pie charts, line graphs, and bar graphs that show Apple’s strengths and weaknesses.
The graphics used in Apple’s report makes statistics easier to understand. For example, one can determine how to company meets each segment market’s needs and expectations by ensuring a balance. The flow chart consists of a pie chart that is equally divided into four parts to portray the company’s balance in delivering quality products in each segmented market. The line graph makes statistics easier to understand, as it shows each product’s sales over the past ten years. In this case, the line graph uses different colors to represent various brands, such as iPhone, iPad, Mac, and iPod. The pie chart clearly shows Apple’s competitors, whereby android and IOS seem major threats because they are represented by larger portions and percentages.
Although the graphics have enhanced an understanding of the statistics, the line graph is misleading because it doesn’t show exact readings. The graph is based on estimation, which might not provide exact values. The graph’s scale is too large to provide small readings. For example, the reader cannot compare iPhone and iPad’s exact sales figures between 206 and 2017. Thus, the graphs’ scale might provide inaccurate readings. The graph can be improved by proper scaling that includes smaller measurement units that enhance accurate comparison.
