Dear Sheryl,
I regret to inform you that Carnival will humbly decline your request to set up anymore student tour packages. I appreciate that your company has always trusted us to deliver fun-filled, exciting, and luxurious cruises to your esteemed clients. However, incidents pertaining to college and high school students have made the company revise its policy on crowd under-21 years. There have been increasingly disturbing cases involving the younger crowds excessively partying, and in their drunken stupor, many become unruly and disorderly, causing disturbances aboard the cruise ship. This has always created potential friction between them and a majority of the other passengers who prefer fun-filled yet tranquil vacation aboard our cruise ships.
To this effect, Carnival has taken the necessary steps to try and curb the said unruly incidents;
- The drinking age has been raised from 18 to 21 years.
- People under 21 years should travel in the company of adults over 25 years old.
- Turning back unaccompanied individuals below 21 years without getting refunds.
However, even with these seemingly strict measures, the incidents have not completely gone away. In your request, you call for the booking of more than 150 unsupervised college students, which is a perfect recipe for excessive drinking and potential disturbances for the other passengers. Hence, the refusal of the request by the Carnival management.
Nonetheless, the company is trying to shift its niche from promoting packages to younger crowds who prefer hassle-free partying and discos to its new target market of families. Our company does offer exceptional value to families. For instance;
- Family relaxation and rejuvenation activities, such as spa treatments, massages and sunbathing.
- Delicious foods from out top-quality chefs, offering dishes from different parts of the world including, kids’ friendly cuisine

- All-in-One family vacation that visits multiple destinations and also distinguished onboard family entertainment such as magic shows. All this without the need to keep unpacking and changing rooms.
Hence, Carnival will be very much obliged to do business with All-World Travel Agency, pertaining mostly to family packages. Given that our cruise ships attract more than a million people per year and at least 98 percent customer satisfaction, your clients will also be obliged to do business with you many more times.
In the meantime, I am sorry to break this bad news to you and your travel agency; I hope our new commitment to family packages will be the beginning of a pleasant business relationship in the future.
