They Must Pay Series
The world is no longer a safe place, and humanity has been significantly eroded; it no longer counts. There are lots of bad people who will do anything to gain a financial edge or ascend the economic radar. Some even kill while others pull others down, and that’s just how crooked the world has become.
Jamuu’s love life was one to behold, a story so sweet that the world stopped to listen and watch in awe. It is alleged that the two lovebirds forged their strong bond back in pre-school when Tebby, his wife, rescued him from the tortures of a syndicate of bullies. Since then, the two had been at each other’s heels, a pied piper kind of arrangement. They had been through thick and thin, ups and downs, but they always stood by each other no matter what.
Then fate struck, and the son of a bitch strikes unwarrantably hard and always leaves a trail of affliction. One moment it was frequent migraines then the bomb, a malignant tumor. Jamuu’s wife was no more, and the young man was distraught with grief. Never had he pictured raising their daughter on his own. Funny how we indulge in the merries of life, go about our business in joy but forget that death is always lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce. And when it strikes, we act all surprised, cry, moan and beat our chests in pain as if the prince of darkness was not all along in the radar. The young man was deeply saddened, but like life dictates, he had to beat the dust off his body and stay strong for his daughter Maria.
Days turned into weeks and weeks into months, and even the town folks forgot all about Tebby. Jamuu, on the other hand, could not get past it no matter how strong he appeared. Lots of his time was spent in the bathrooms crying, whenever he sat alone for a moment, memories of his wife could flood his mind, and it all ended in tears. His work life was also significantly affected, but his business partner and best friend Jaygon covered his ass. He ensured their three companies were running flawlessly even though Jamuu owned the largest portion of the venture.
There is a weird notion that sometimes the universe wildly strays and, for a moment, steps out of its natural line. Consequently, things fail to flow naturally. You work hard to start a company, but an unwarranted pandemic strikes, and your business endeavor fails miserably. You wed a successful man, but well, the fucker sleeps around. As Jamuu suffered, there are those that saw a window of opportunity in his misery and were willing to maximize on it….
