Theoretical Framework
To enable the faulty to attain the ability to focus on efforts on employing master instructions and creating an active participatory learning experience for students, I will incorporate the four major learning theories. They include the behavioral, cognitive, and the constructivism and connectivism. The theories help institutions achieve the set goals which constitutes of achieving superior academic outcomes, creation of a model for sustainable advantage and developing a high performing team. Furthermore, it ensures the fostering of advocacy by students and promotes transformational growth. The theories work hand in hand to better the outcomes of the institution.
The behaviourism theory outlines that an individual’s behaviour is based on what his body is conditioned to basing on the outside environment. It is as a result of interaction with the environment that our bodies are conditioned. In consideration of this, tutors should expose learners to an academic environment. An academic environment that allows students to be free with their tutors to encourage great consultation. It motivates other students to follow suit and get engaged in their study for better performance. They should incorporate practical activities in the passing of information to their students. Through this, students will get to form a positive attitude towards studies to enhance better academic performance.
The cognitive theory stresses the thought process that causes a certain behaviour in an individual. It all begins with the training given to the students to intake in the learning process. This is the stimulus process where the mind of the student is exposed to the various course they undertake. It is followed by a cognitive process where the student analyzes the information, and if it is done repeated times, the mind adapts, and it sticks. At this point, the response is obtained by gauging the mind by tests. The theory indicates that there will be positive feedback indicating effective learning. The thought process of individuals can be trained to work in the manner the tutors intend. They can use this theory to create a teaching model that ensures the achievement of a sustainable advantage.
The constructivism theory develops from the knowledge grasped by the student. It begins from the facilities availed to the student from learning. It ranges from the availability of books, well-prepped tutors and a healthy learning environment. If a student is facilitated with all the above, then they are capable of achieving constructivism thinking. They will come up with a solution basing on the knowledge they have achieved. Research reveals that such students are likely to give the best feedback from their reasoning. Through this, the tutors can attain development of a high performing engaged team from their students.
The connetivism theory focuses on the ability to acquire knowledge and share it with more people around. Employment of connectivism theory enhances fostering of advocacy by students, alumni and partners. When students are engaged in learning, they gain knowledge and can interpret it and can later come up with ideas related to the concepts they have. It will, in turn, enable them to have the knowledge to share with their fellow students enhancing knowledge transfer. Alumni of the school an also pass the same information they acquire to students to enhance their understanding. It also engages other parties like the partners of the school who can as well pass the information. Through this great transformational growth is experienced by the group of students.
