The President has various roles. The first role that a president has in a country is to protect the national interest and pass orders. This may include declaring war and executing between the Congress and the President. This means that once he has made a decision, it is deemed final, hence the title, being the commander in chief. Another role of the President is engaging in the extra-legislative policymaking through using the executive orders. It implies that the President’s decision towards policymaking is therefore established as affirmative action in federal contracting even if it is not traced in the Constitution, the best example being that of Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. The Constitution has changed such roles whereby the decision that should be taken by the President should strictly be bound within the framework of the Constitution. Also, it has limited the presidential term into two terms of 4 years each.

The President has various powers. The first one is that he has the potential to declare war and execute war between Congress and the President. This means that he has the power to decide where Congress can deem it final, and no ratification is needed. The President also has the power to make the domestic policy and execute it, meaning that he controls everything in the country. The President needs such skills to carry out his role because of the importance that the decision will impact on the land.

Various branches check the President’s power. The first one is Congress, which regularly issues various directives in which the powers should be regulated. It ensures that any bills before being taken to the President to be made policies must pass through the house. The other branch that checks the President’s power is czar, who is involved in imposing rules and regulations, overseeing the budget, and coordinating executive policy responses. This means that they play a very crucial role in providing directives about policymaking in the country and making sure that the legislative is within the constitutional framework.

Bureaucracy plays various roles. The first one is that it is involved in the implementation of the governmental policies and laws, which concerns serving the objectives that it is intended. The other role is in policy formulation, where they involve various civil servants, who supply the required data to the political executives for formulating the policies through considering the merits and demerits of each. Also, the Bureaucracy is involved in offering advisory function to the political executives, where they receive information regarding the functioning of various departments.

The Bureaucracy has changed since President George Washington’s administration. During this particular time, the executive had only three departments that are the State, War, and Treasury. The reforms started to take place as a result of Bureaucracy, which led to further existence and led to the independent regulatory commissions came into existence. There is the various reason for such changes. The first one was to increase the scope of the administrative power and make sure that the policies that were made revealed equality. The national defense was also expanding during the cold war as a result of various Congress delegates who were getting involved in the rulemaking.
