The man, the Myth, the Legend

Thomas Jefferson remains a legend in the history books. He achieved what nobody else finds it easy to make. Thomas Jefferson is one of the most successful people in providing light of mind to generations. He also met a lot in the field of political activism. Various sources details all his achievements during his times and how they impact the other generation. He goes on record as one who helped broaden the perspective of his people towards various issues. He ventured the field of politics with a lot of vigor.

In the process of recording details about his achievements, there are different myths that his admirers and close persons added about his work and desires. Some of these myths include the statement that Jefferson is the father of democracy in the United States of America. This myth alludes to the fact that he achieved a substantial amount of respect, success, and honor in politics. Other tales are allegations that Jefferson had an internal relationship with Sally Hemings. Sources indicate that some people believe he is the father of all Sally’s children. The other accusation is that Jefferson was an atheist. Researchers suggest that although Jefferson was a genius who accomplished many things, he had a list of shortcomings in his life.

Thomas Jefferson remains the most celebrated personnel in America for the things he did for hid country. One of his most exceptional service in America is as an author of the Declaration of Independence. The people of America count him as one of the heroes who enabled the country to achieve independence and political democracy. People stopped considering him as their icon when they learned about the allegations that he was the father of Sally Hemings, an enslaved servant in his homestead.

Jefferson believed that white immigration to the SouthSouth is an excellent means of providing the much-needed labor force to replace the liberated slave masses. The slaves’ departure relates to his initial plans for a slow process aimed at achieving the emancipation and exile of all slaves. He initially indicated that the slaves’ presence limited the ability of the natives to function in freedom. He, however, believed that if the children of slaves had a chance to grow up in substantial amounts of freedom, they would add up to be good and productive citizens. As a president, Jefferson expresses doubts about whether the governments from the southern states will support the immigration of laborers from Germany. He also doubted whether they would agree to set free the slaves without them showing any resistance. Jefferson thought that the governments would only agree tp free the slaves when they resist detention. He tried to express his belief for the potential that the blacks and their children convey. However, Jefferson knew well that it would only happen that the governments unleash the blacks’ potential when they get access to quality education. He suspected that these people were quite inferior but could behave like the whites if they had the freedom to access knowledge through education.

Sources record Jefferson suggesting that the government should offer education to the freed persons. He advocated for quality and decent education programs to enable these people to unleash their potential to be like the whites and reduce their sense of looking inferior. Jefferson initiated a program that sensitized on the importance of trusting blacks and understanding how much intelligence they possess. He indicated that providing them with decent education is to enable them to exist competitively in other countries as independent people and not slaves. Research suggests that these thoughts saw him recognize the running Haitian government of the black people as the best destination for the southern slaves who were lucky enough to obtain freedom. Unlike many other whites, he appears to trust in the potential that the blacks have. He understood that investing in them will amount to a lot of success to the country in the future as it makes the blacks equally productive to the whites. He maintained a supportive attitude to this government in his quest to empower black people.

After they migrate to the SouthSouth, the whites would take over their place as laborers. The population that would take over their jobs included the poor whites whose migration to the US served the better part of benefiting the sector with constant labor supply. Therefore, the plans that Jefferson initiated aimed at setting the black slaves free and offered immigrants from various parts of the European nations jobs and grant them a new chapter of life with total freedom. Jefferson remains an icon in the historical books America due to the problem-solving skills evident in his work and programs that initiated. Sources indicate that his plans had a positive impact on the whites, the blacks, and the nation at large. He proposed the popular antislavery legislation as a change in the current bill about slaves. However, the legislature did not consider this bill. Despite the myths that somehow posed a negative picture of Jefferson, for instance, fathering a child of his servant slave, he remains an icon in America’s history. Generations and generations will celebrate his actions in drafting the independence and his contribution towards freedom and education for slaves.
