Education plays a fundamental part in everyone’s life by extensively improving the quality of one’s life. Whether formal or informal, the critical role of education is emphasized in all societies. Echoing the famous words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” matters education has to be the best possession a person can own. This paper seeks to define education, its important role, and how it improves people’s quality of life.

Various scholars have generally defined education as the wholesome roundness of an individual that happens throughout one’s life. By acquiring different forms of knowledge and skills, education improves an individual’s attitude and personality (Al-Shuaibi, 2014). Knowledge can be acquired from different sources outside the classroom and helps an individual consistently adapt to the various aspects of life.

In the proper setup, education helps enable a person to learn how to read and write. Most formal institutions use writing as the main form of passing information; therefore, writing and reading skill is essential in the current world (Bhardwaj, 2016). People’s literacy, which is the ability of a person to read and write, is tied to how educated an individual is. Education is, therefore, a gauge of how literate a person is.

Employment opportunities often include an individual’s level of education as a major requirement for consideration. Education is essential to developing the skills needed for different occupations. Uneducated people are usually in the lowest-paying employment sectors, but poverty can be eradicated with an increase in education (Bhardwaj, 2016). High paying jobs require higher skills, and therefore the higher a person achieves in their level of education, the more likely that their skills are more refined.

Communication in various fields of life has been greatly enhanced through education. An educated person’s speech is easily distinguishable from others as it is more refined. Education has furthermore remarkably changed the communication department worldwide by improving the means through which information is passed. Education is critical in the development of communication systems and even enhancing individual speech.

Technological advancements have been made with an increase in knowledge and education. The handling of modern machines is currently possible due to the amount of time spent developing the technical skills required through proper education. An individual is hence able to make better use of technology (Al-Shuaibi, 2014). A person’s increase in hi-tech know-how is considerably significant in keeping up with technological trends.

Education’s importance in an individual’s sophistication enables them to become more mature as they indulge in interactions with other people. Education is central to how an individual can understand people and react in different settings (Bhardwaj, 2016). An educated individual is more likely to act with a higher degree of openness than an uneducated person. A person’s range of sophistication is directly linked to one’s education.

Higher education levels are associated with high status in society. Therefore, people in society accord highly educated people more respect and honor as they are considered cherished sources of knowledge and skills. Education gives people a platform to serve the society in which they live; hence, other people often look up to these distinguished members of society for guidance (Hunter, 2018). Being educated is central in the aiding of the communities in which the educated individual lives.

Education offers a platform for different people to come together. It is through education that people learn how to appreciate various cultures and also associate with diverse individuals. People largely study how people may have different opinions, and they eventually value thoughts that are not their own (Al-Shuaibi, 2014). Education is crucial for people to develop an understanding of other people’s customs and their learning how to get along with others.

Educated individuals exhibit the aura of having high self-esteem. Due to the high stature that is usually accorded to education, educated people exude a sense of self-confidence, which is necessary for any person wishing to pursue success (Hunter, 2018). Self-confident people are aware of how well they can perform a job, and most time, receive their job’s worth and take steps towards leading a successful life (Bhardwaj, 2016).

Education is key to the development of concepts, inventions, and innovations. The mission of a good education is to help scholars in any field to come up with critically thought-through ideas to enhance the efficiency of modern systems (Al-Shuaibi, 2014). Education is responsible for polishing human minds and reinforcing thoughts that lead to further development of human civilization.

The foundation of education is based on good morals and ethics (Hunter, 2018). Educated people display an understanding of how to deal with everyone around them using the two principles. Maintaining positivity throughout life’s dealings is only possible if one has utilized good learning opportunities from reputable institutions. Ethics are responsible for ensuring that people within a society uphold each other’s rights.

Conclusively, everyone has a right to good education as it is the pillar of society’s development today. Governments must ensure that all citizens have access to education as uneducated youth’s products are hazardous to any country striving to grow. Education is responsible for eradicating poverty through the creation of new employment opportunities. Educated people have higher chances of becoming self-employed as the education system encourages creativity, invention, and innovation. People are encouraged to study to develop communication skills and improve their levels of sophistication through diverse knowledge in expression and socialization. Indeed, education is the most potent weapon with which anyone can use to change the world.
