Introduction
Music is referred to as vocals or instrumental, or a composition of both to express emotions while bringing a beauty form harmony. They are a different set of music genres: jazz, blues, hip hop, and gospels. Other people are associated with different genres depending on their background and their nature. The interview was carried among various groups of people to determine their preference for music. Those interviewed included three categories of individuals; my 25-year-old cousin, David, an 11-year-old sister, Mary, and a 70-year-old maternal grandfather, Gabriel.
The first interview response
The first interview was with my 25-year-old cousin. A set of well-formulated questions was addressed to him that included his preferred music, how many times he would listen to music, and why he chose the genre.
In his response, he claimed to love the hip hop kind of music together with music called club bangers and a soft spot for the gospel genre. He would listen to and dance to music almost at every opportunity. For him to choose the kind of music is since he felt they gave him much relief. Youths are associated with many stressful weeks, from waking up early to school, working, and attending several unending meetings. Thus getting time to relieve one’s stress by listening or dancing to the hip hop tune would be much relief.
The second interview response
The second interview involved an 11-year-old sister who seems to be much enthusiastic about music. In her thought, she claimed to like blues, gospel, and RnB songs. For her, she loved the kind of music because she felt they soothe her soul. Ladies are known for their soft spot kind of nature, which would go hand in hand with the smooth blues songs. Such songs are also preferred amongst children, especially young girls, as they are naturally soft beings.
The third interview response
I interviewed the third response, my maternal grandfather, who claimed to be in love with the jazz, a bit of gospel, and the 80’s songs. Many issues formed his opinions; being that he was a youth during the 80’s he felt the tunes were more familiar and smoothening than the current music in the industry. His love for the gospel was formed by the opinion that he was moving closer to death and needed a supernatural being to soothe him whenever lonely; A task that the gospel music perfected.
Similarities and differences
The interviews had a similarity in the kind of music that they all preferred. Interviewees seem to have been raised in religious homes because they all included gospel songs as their genre. They also had notable differences. The sister, youngest of all, loved cool music like the blues genre with cool love messages, while the cousin loved songs with a faster rhythm like the hip-hop, while the old, maternal grandfather preferred the old school songs as they reflected his youthful days.
Interesting fact and its importance to the relationship between humans and music
Humans love different music at different stages of their lives, depending on their energy and relationship. It, therefore, for meaningful human relationship with music depending on critical values like energy. The small kids have less energy and prefer less energetic songs, while youths are active and face many stressful days, prompting their love for high rhythm songs. Therefore, the old guards with the weakling body would go for less energetic songs with a preference for content songs.
