“The convict.”
The convict is episode nine of the series called the office. The episode original script was written by Ricky Gervais and Merchant Steven, the famous inventors of the same name’s original comedy series. The series shows the way the office employees in Scranton and Stamford carry their daily lives. In this episode, Michael realizes that Martin Nash, an employee who came with branches, was in prison. Michaels feels bitter when Martin’s stories related to prison becomes cool than daily working in the office. Jim tricks pam by giving wrong information on how to win her favors.
RacismOften, the black is seen as the weak in the society, their colleagues the whites believe there are some rights they can access, but the black people cannot. However, not all whites are against black people; some are so caring and go to fight for the black’s rights. Michael defends the new black employee by all means. Angela, Kevin, Michael, and Jan had a conference talk about checking claims they had received. Jan argues that the team checks since the federal reformed convict regulating employment, positive change by Josh, former manager of Dunder Mifflin Stamford; she quickly contacted human resource management, showing employee hired through this program is martin. Michael, in his bid support to support, inform the team to forget the News to avoid causing unnecessary tension, and they all agree except Angela, who says she sarcastically supports criminal protection. All his colleagues do not show Martin’s bid for support; some accuses him. Pam accuses Mike that he is responsible for the slaughter and kidnap of a woman. Michael stops all this storm by warning Palm that he will fire him the next time he does the same.
Transformation
Change is inevitable in society; for an every complete life process, one should undergo some change. The gradual change is what makes people great; it shape and strengthen human. However big the mistake is, we should learn to stop lining to what we once did. Michael assumes all that happened to mike for him to be held in prison; he focuses on the new mike. Michel says life in the clink is no picnic. Michael announces a brief meeting taking place in the parking lot, trying to support Mike’s past. Mike was jailed for insider trading, and even though it was common, it didn’t sound nice. Pam’s behavior whenever he sees mike, how he moves his arms, and what he tells Michael about Mike shows that he was meant to serve as an example of those rigid people not willing according to the societal movement.
Rejection
Being rejected in society is common; one can be rejected by those close that you don’t expect. Mike is rejected by most of his workmates did not wish him good .being a black and a convict. Michael realizes that this was a big threat to the branch. Therefore, he has to come up with a clear way that could unite everyone and avoid rejection. Michael came up with a way to curb their colleague’s attention; apart from calling himself Prison Mike, he paints his life and relates to prison; when asked where he learned, he says he learned about prison life from the internet and prison.
The axial themes discussed affected various people either directly or indirectly, so different from my expectation to see how Michael is supporting Mike. The same social changes taking place in the episode illustrated are the mirror-like of our daily life; we should therefore be able to cope with the same state in case it happens.
