I have always been passionate about politics since I was growing up. The level of passion increased as I got into this school. There are several social issues, which I think is the right time for them to be addressed once and for all.
From the current events in the televisions seen all over the world, it is too evident that politics play a significant influence. We get news from the newspapers, social media, and radios about how the world is in economic turmoil, which makes me interested in political matters. Even while I was growing up, I got involved in the news, as I liked adult news programs like late-night news. I became accustomed to the suffering of individuals, which is due to several social issues affecting our lives. The level of complexities between different groups of individuals fascinates me—the way the federal government is implementing rules which are changing our lives as students are intriguing.
My level of interest in the affairs currently affecting our lives is increased by reading about the occurrences in the past. I see that there is a significant relationship between historical events and politics, in which an individual must have a deeper understanding. I look forward to actively engaged in conversations on how to address the current world threats like covid-19. In this regard, discussing political ideas with my friends and politicians has increased my understanding of the occurrences and ideologies. These have been critically important in strengthening my level of knowledge concerning past events. Also, I have increased my level of motivation to learn more about politics at the university.
After being admitted to this school, I joined the political debating club that has partnered with our college. Due to this, I have made contact with some tutors, students from other colleges, postgraduates, as well as tutors. During my first involvement in these debates, I listened intently. I was a follower. However, with time, I have been able to boost my confidence and level of motivation in discussing the issues facing our society. I have been able to read more and increased my level of participation in these debates. Currently, I am the deputy speaker of the political debating club. It is quite a significant achievement for a first-timer at the club. The issues raised during the conversations have caught my attention. I feel the same problems affect our school. Changing policies is a better way to solve them.
I believe that I am unique in my leadership abilities. I know the different kinds of inequalities experienced in our society today. Who has the role of changing these negative issues affecting us? It is the politicians who will have to enact better policies that, regardless of affliction., there is a need for ensuring that every student gets an equal opportunity to prosper in life.
My fellow students, I have steadied my hear and look deep into my soul. I know there are significant challenges for politicians, more so among the students. There may be doubters about my capabilities. They may refer to me as over-ambitious. However, I want to tell them that History will absolve me, as long as the person hearing my words do not doubt me. In life, as long as you have a belief, as I have, nothing is impossible. This is a critical opportunity for me to join politics. I don’t believe that there will be a better one compared to the current moment. Due to this, I urge you, my fellow students, to join my course and see us prosper.
