Your response Ruben is articulate and well researched on the effects of technology on healthcare. I concur with your assessment that the evolution of technology has a tremendous effect on the delivery of healthcare. Through technology, nurses and other healthcare professionals can diagnose patients and offer treatment quickly (Coccia, 2016). Such efficient delivery of healthcare services has the sector reliable since it leads to better health outcomes. It is true that technology provides the required software to ensure there is improved healthcare and efficient disease control among medical institutions. All in all, technological advancements have helped healthcare professionals deliver the needed quality care that ensures disease control and prevention.
Technology introduced electronic health records that help medical staff access patient data easily to offer the required medical services. Technology introduced software like mHealth, an application that helps nurses constantly monitor the progress of their patients without physically visiting the patient. Patients can also communicate with nurses in case they need services rendered. Through technology, there is the introduction of Telehealth software that allows people in rural areas to have access to the same resources (medication) like those in urban areas (Martínez et al., 2018). As such, technological advancements have improved the access and delivery of healthcare services in both rural and urban areas.
To conclude, changes in healthcare have been eased up through technological advancements.
