Stall training for pilots
Importantly, proper stall recovery training and understanding for the pilots is essential in improving safety in the airline sector. The accident of Flight 3407 was seen as the pilot negligence due to failure to examine an aerodynamic stall. The pilot had confused and pulled back on the plane’s yolk, instead of pushing down (Christensen et al., 2018). This error was seen as a lack of proper stall recovery training among pilots; hence the law was passed. Pilots undergo such training, but comprehending the learned skills and knowledge requires adequate practice in the airline industry. This practice would ensure that the pilots are cautious enough and can be able to detect some technical problems before an accident such as the crash occurs. Even though the pilots could not get employed without them completing their training satisfactorily, the crash of Flight 3407 exposed a lot of doubts about the aviation industry. As a result, the legislation included stall training in the airline safety act 2010 that will improve airline services, especially in airline hiring despite some changes regarding cost and benefits.
Despite the improvements that could occur due to stall training, some challenges about cost and benefits may be experienced in the airline hiring sector. The airline sector would have to acquire the necessary personnel and financed several training processes. Also, every pilot will have to undergo the stall recovery training that may take a lot of time hence reduced investment. For instance, the Flight simulators advised that updated modern machines are some of the essentialities in the stall training that only come after the pilots have undergone necessary training (Depperschmidt et al., 2018). Thus a lot of time would be consumed with an enormous investment of resources. Some companies may even decide to shut down due to lack of proper finance hence lowers flight hiring services.
With the critics that most pilots pass through insufficient training on stall recovery, the bill will ensure that the people’s good faith in the airline industry is restored. However, in disguise, the airline investors will be to persevere and provide the costly training and practices for their pilots. Besides, the new rules on the pilot stall recovery training require that the regulators must look for proper flight simulators to enhance the model stall behavior (Crider, 2017). This process needs quite many years to implement; hence the airline sector would lose a lot of time for doing the transport business. But again, many simulators have less understanding on modeling an accurate plane’s behavior in a complete stall. However, the Federal Aviation Administration persistently advocates for the idea.
