Self- Evaluation
I have identified and described techniques that will help in enhancing learning and memory. I have also indicated the criteria to use for the techniques, such as the spaced repetition technique, which is useful when the learners want to remember something in the long term. Another criterion provided is the use of mnemonics, where the learners are required to remember the exact details. Describing the techniques used and giving the criteria for their use fall under the distinguished level.
The identified groups are children and people with autism. I have described the learning issues for these specific groups. Autistic students will have problems paying attention for an extended period; in such cases, I describe how the use of storytelling will help such students. I have also described how this technique will be effective in specific cases where autistic individuals have a speech problem. This technique will help them in comprehension, speech production, and acquisition. The same technique will also be effective when the instructors want to pass social skills to the students. When it comes to the children, most of the time, they will be hearing something for the first time; this; this will require the use of visual aids, which I have described in the presentation. Learning grammar, a real-life example, is also described and how visual aids help learners and their instructors. The scoring criteria indicate that describing a group of interest and the learning issues associated with the group and providing real-life examples is a distinguished level.
For the selected groups, I have given the strategies to use and how effective they are for each criterion. I have also used peer-reviewed sources published within the last five years. I also reviewed my work to correct any errors and making sure the presentation focused on the central idea, which is enhancing learning and memory. In citing my work, I also used the APA style both for the in-text citation and reference list. I have also conducted a self-evaluation using the scoring guide.
