Safety Concerns and Inspection
In every sphere of life, risks are inevitable; hence the need for effective risk management in these different spheres. Risk management helps people address the risks before they occur. In recreational facilities, it is essential to protect the lives of employees and clients in these facilities. Some of the main areas that require attention are safety concerns and inspection, storage concerns, and building and maintenance concerns
Safety Concerns and Inspection
Safety concerns of every person in the recreational facility should be at the heart of the business operation (Nohr, 2009). As the director, I would ensure there is an approach of ensuring all participants have an understanding of the risks involved in participating in the recreational activities. They need to understand anticipated risks, unsafe acts, as well as their consequences. I can achieve this use of posters, regular supervisions and briefing sessions.
Recreational facilities require a regular inspection (Nohr, 2009). As such, I would ensure that the facility is inspected regularly to ensure the safety of everyone visiting the place and the employees. I can develop an inspection schedule where the employees inspect the facility daily and while the professionals conduct it monthly.
Storage Concerns
Recreational facilities must always have storage, and some facilities require storage of customers’ goods as well as organizational equipment. To ensure the safety of this equipment, I would ensure there a person is manning the storage facility. Furthermore, I would ensure there is a system of identifying customer’s items. For instance, the person handling the storage area must have tags to marks the items lefts by the customers. For the organizational equipment, I would ensure there is the proper keeping of inventory.
Building Maintenance Concerns
Maintenance of buildings determines whether customers will visit the facility or not (Mull, Beggs & Renneisen, n.d.). I would thus ensure there is someone in charge of monitoring cleanliness of the facility as well as doing yearly renovations.
Conclusion
In summary, as the director of the facility, putting proper measures to address safety concerns and inspection, storage concerns, and building and maintenance concerns would be mandatory. To cater for such issues, delegation of duties and responsibilities would be necessary.
