Review

Disaster may strike anywhere without warning, whether human-made or natural; however, what matters most is not the disaster itself by the resilience of the communities, government, and the infrastructures available. To build an environment of resilience or non-resilience is dependent on the planning, preparedness, response and recovery after the disaster occurs. Resilience can only be accomplished by the process of turning awareness of risks and hazards either natural or manmade faced by society into actions that enhance capacity to respond and recover successfully from the calamity. The paper will cover a streak of natural disaster that has ravaged the US territory of Puerto Rico.
