REFLECTION: What is the Psychology of Morality?
It is believed that the brain has something to do with moral intuition. As indicated by Humes, an ‘is’ cannot be a mere prerequisite of an ‘ought.’ It is thus further said that science has an element of determining the validity of values as well as reasons besides humans holding such values. Natural selection ultimately forms the answer to the psychology in morality developing the brain to a series of reactions that influence judgments, feelings, and moral intuitions. Judgments can in this case be affiliated to feelings resulting from the unconscious processes. The virtual reasoning thus forms a foundation of our interpretations of such moral implications. It would be inconsiderate to rationalize some behaviors based on our developments taken part in evolutions. The intellectual conscious can thus be established on moral variations ranging from the moral to the immoral as identified by Harris.
