Prons of using patient experience to develop integrated care
Advancement of knowledge. Application of patient experience in integrated care has shifted healthcare from a series of episodic encounters to a much-concerned system about a person’s health (Nelson et al., 2015). In this case, patients, clinics, families, policymakers, and other people have the relevant information needed for health care.
Models of health care enhance patient satisfaction (Nelson et al., 2015). There is an active partnership between the patients, clinicians, and health scientists in the development of integrated care. The relationship has contributed to improved health care and health as well as research. In this case patients are centered.
Increases perceived quality of care. Patients can share perceptions of the health of health, functions, and well-being with the healthcare team. In this case patients can select measures that can matter to the health services.
Corns of using patient experience to develop integrated care.
It does not promise autopia. Patient experience in the development of integrated care sometimes has adverse consequences and risks anticipated in the process. The patients are seen under surveillance and control.
There is a tendency to focus on numbers tracked by fitness devices (Nelson et al., 2015). This becomes a risk as the innovators should be concentrated on the complex goals of overall health and not the data collected by devices
The patient-reported outcome measures. (PROMS)
In seeing PROMS, Eugene Nelson and colleagues have developed standardized measures that are used to capture patient’s reported outcomes. In doing so, the following standards are applicable; symptom status, physical functioning, mental health, social functioning, and wellbeing (Nelson et al., 2015). Performance assessment and value of money have also been adopted to prove the clinician’s and patients’ clinical research views to meet the patient’s treatment.
Patients reported experiencing measures (PREMs)
As an enabler of patient-centered care, PREMs involve capturing a person’s perception with experience of health services (Nelson et al., 2015). There are various indicators in surveys and questionnaires in PREMs. There is an improvement in the ability to detect the worsening of symptoms.
