Design an Effective Organization
According to Yang (2018), organizations require a well-defined structural design with which the business is controlled. Companies with proper design have the upper hand in succeeding and prospering in a competitive market structure. An excellent organizational design includes proper management, division of labor and specialization, good communication flow, training, and employees’ welfare well put in place. The discharge of duties and the coordination in an organization is an essential aspect of the organization. Every successful entrepreneur is defined by their ability to develop sound business designs and implement the designs to result in maximum returns and profit. Most organizations follow regulatory principles and discussed are designs and effective organizational practices for a newly started business. How do they operate in ensuring business success? Do the practices ensure the long-term sustainability of the enterprise?

The company was started as a partnership in the year 2017 but quickly changed to a limited company with the inclusion of the other seven other members who became shareholders of the company. It starts as a show designing partnership business, which later grew into a shoemaking and branding company. It has over a hundred employees, both casual and permanent, or long-term employees.

Operation of the business
The business takes the form of a limited company and deals with the production and branding of shoes. Its name is Bookers ltd. Booker ltd wand is governed by a committee of governors who select and employ a manager for the business (Yang et al., 2018). The company operates using a constitution that was drafted when the business was formed. The committee presides over the functions of the business and is the overall supreme decision markers. The committee is composed of only shareholders and is ranked according to the number of shares they hold. The business’s day-to-day running is presided by the manager who has the mandate to allocate duties to various departments and supervise the company’s whole activities and report to the oversite committee.
Five functioning departments help in the operation of the business or the company. The department of production and designing, the department of sales and marketing, the department of transport and logistics, the security department, and the department of human resource management are the four departments that drive the agendas of the business and day to day objectives. The heads of these departments respond to the manager and the employee under the reports directly; this helps in the proper communication flow within the company. The human resource department is the most critical in the company since all the employees fall under the department. It is also responsible for the success of the various employee and the business as a whole.
Organizational design elements
Specialization is vital in this company in its operation to avoid confusion and low performance. Division of labor and specialization helps promote efficiency and excellent coordination in the business, thus a critical consideration of Bookers ltd. The manager who oversees the business’s day-to-day running has a managerial role and discharges his duties according to the company’s constitution (Gresov et al., 2016). The various departmental heads report to the manager; they are in charge of their various departments and are responsible for any eventually. Moreover, they assign various departmental duties to multiple employees under them.
The security department is responsible for all security details and protocols of the company premises and ensures that all the employees are safe. They are specialized and trained basically for security factors and maintaining peace and a conducive environment for working. They are responsible for carrying out patrols and monitoring and neutralizing any security threat that may arise within the business premises. The advertisement is carried out on all social media platforms, using posters and billboards; the publication is carried out according to its constitution.
The human resource department is responsible for the outsourcing of an able workforce with skills to work in the company. The department is in charge of the welfare and the well-being of the employees in the company. The company organizes training for the employees, bench-marking, and other motivational activities through the human resource department. The department also mandated to dismiss non-performing employees through the manager (Lo et al., 2019). The production and designing department is the busiest department in the company, and it is made up of about a hundred employees who work in various capacities. The department is responsible for the production of the different shoe makes and brand them. After the production, the products are handed over to the marketing department who carry out the selling of the products.
The financial aspect of the company is controlled by a budgeting committee composed of all department heads. They also form the disciplinary and the administrative committee of the company, which the head is the manager. The division of labor and specialization of Booker Ltd is well outlined to promote the smooth running of the business and to ensure maximum production and high standard service delivery (Lo et al., 2019). The company is also involved in various community activities, such as providing scholarships and other services to the neighboring community. Consequently, the company has a special committee known as Charity Best, which is in charge of all the community outreach work. The committee is made up of the oversite committee (the shareholder), the head of the human resource department, and the company’s manager.
Employees
The induction of employees has conducted annually where best-performing individuals are awarded and promoted, while those who have performed poorly are demoted according to the company regulations. The conduct its recruitments based on the available opportunities in the company, the recruitment is done majorly based on performance and work experience. The new employees are taken under compulsory two-month training as they discharge their duties in their respective posts. The human resource management notes the employees’ daily performance for the award-giving in every Annual general meeting.
The training of employees is conducted quarterly, that is after every month, the training combines various life skill training and the different aspect of market and entrepreneurship. Leadership pieces of training are also offered to the employees to equip them with the necessary skills to handle the various pressure the work environment may pose to them (Anderson et al., 1996). Benchmarking is also an activity that the company conducts to train its employees through experience. They gain information and knowledge from other companies, thus making them useful in Bookers Ltd.
Compensation of the employees is done when wrongly dismissed from the company, and a complaint is filed to the disciplinary committee who determines the merits of the complaint. When the claim is genuine, the company will compensate the employee. Employees are compensated in case of an accident in the line of duty. The company pays the hospital bills and takes care of the family during the time individual is grounded. The company also is responsible for the security and well-being of its employees. Thus, in case of an eventuality of a security breach, the company will compensate the individual who is affected in the process.

Innovation is stimulated and supported in the company through various methods which are development-oriented (Sloane, Paul 2007). There five main ways the company uses in which innovation is encouraged and promoted.

Diversity and anonymity are a pair of important aspects of boosting the team’s performance in the company. Many individual employees are creative and innovative, but most of them are reserved or shy to openly share their ideas. Thus, the company has always invested time to have one-on-one meetings with individuals to create trust and encourage individuals to share their ideas with the company. Moreover, the company has set up a system for anonymous suggestions; this promotes confidence and innovation. The recommendations which are implementable and are useful to the company is implemented, and the innovator is awarded accordingly
- Positive environment
The primary component of promoting innovation or creative thinking has a relaxed and comfortable working environment. From various studies done, it is observed that happy people are more likely to have new or original ideas, unlike those who are tense or stressed up individuals. Bookers Ltd is ensuring innovative minds and creative ideas by providing a peaceful and conducive working environment. The company encourages interaction and socialization the promote the happiness of various individuals (Sloane, Paul 2007). Excellent communication and healthy team relationships are essential principles of the company; thus, it encourages openness and sharing of ideas, which leads to innovation and creativity in the company.

Most of the best forms of innovations are found within the company; the employees interact with daily issues in the company and understand best what is needed or what needs attention. The employees are very helpful in solving the company’s efficiency issues since they strive to save their own time. Therefore, Booker has created an open door for her employees to buy encouraging and welcoming new ideas and suggestions from all the individuals who bring them (Sloane, Paul 2007). The company host frequent focus meetings to chat and brainstorm on outstanding issues and finding lasting solutions to them. Booker Ltd embraces the use of technology in her daily operations. From security to marketing, the company uses high-level technology, which has sustained her despite being a new company. The company competes well in the stiff competitive market by using high-class technology (Martin et al., 2020). The technology is used in the company to achieve individual and organizational performance through time-saving and efficiency. For instance, the cleaners in the company are equipped with cleaning machines which help them to do the cleaning with the shortest time possible. The employees working in the manufacturing area are also equipped with special protective gears which assures their safety
The company has also embraced technology in her production sector, where automated machines are used to produce shoes. The automated machines can produce a thousand pairs of shoes in an hour as compared to a hundred shoes in an hour of other rival companies. The machines are also operated remotely using encrypted software with the GPRS setting, thus making the work easy and efficient. The packaging sector is also equipped with automated packaging machines that help the employees in discharging their duties with ease, thus promoting their success and performance.
The security department is kept intact with high-tech CCTV cameras installed in the whole business premises. The security personnel can monitor and detect any security threat to the company and neutralize it at the right time. The use of technology in the company ensures the effective production and security of the company assets, thus keeping the company in the global competitive market (Martin et al., 2020). The company’s marketing and advertisement are digital. And the use of current technology such as online marketing, website, and social media advertisement is at an advanced level to provide the company with an upper hand in the competitive market.
The use of technology in all aspects of production lets the company stay relevant and tolerant in the competitive market. The company also has a digitalized paying method where customers can order goods online, pay online, and get free delivery. It encourages time-saving and efficiency; for instance, a customer can order a pair of shoes from the company’s website and receive the product in two hours or so depending on their distance. The company also has a fan page or customer’s page in all the social media platforms where the company interacts with her customers and fans and take their opinions on the services they provide.
The use of technology makes the company have a global touch and competitiveness. Through the applications of various social media platforms, the company is gradually gaining the global economic market. The company has steadily increased its profit margin since it was started through the increased use of technology (Martin et al., 2020). The various shareholder can also conduct their meeting online through skype or zoom websites, thus embracing the company’s technological advancement. The company also has most have premises fitted with various automated machines that promoted efficiency and delivery of services within the shortest time possible. The company also uses drones to carry out inspections and monitoring of the activities in the company. Moreover, the Bookers Ltd Company is planning to have drone transport, which will be used to supply the customers at the comfort of their homes.

A good company or organization must be guided by different expectations, values, and philosophies. All these make up the company’s culture, and it governs the employee’s behavior, expressed inner workings, members-self- image interactions with the outside world, and future expectations (Yoon et al., 2018). There are four types of organizational culture that Bookers Ltd interacts with; they include; clan, market, adhocracy, and hierarchy.
The company’s clan culture is a family-like type of relationship with a primary focus on the company’s interaction with its employees. The interaction between the company and the employees is one likened to mother-to kids’ interaction, and each employee is treated with the utmost respect. The company also takes part in nurturing and educating the various employees, thus improving their skills.
Adhocracy-is oriented towards entrepreneurial, which focuses on the risk-taking doing things first and innovation. Bookers Ltd with her sophisticated technological powers, ventures into various risk-taking opportunities in the market, thus creating a very competitive market for the other companies (Yoon et al., 2018). The employees are trained to be aggressive and grab any opportunity in the market. They are also equipped well to be very innovative and creative, thus keeping with the pace of the market competition.
Market culture- is oriented towards results with a focus on achievement, competition, and getting the job done. The company has fitted well in the competitive market by coming up with unique brands of shoes that are appealing and attractive to the customers. The company’s sales and marketing department is result-oriented and works to achieve the business’s goal. The company has also created a strong fan base in the social media platform, which gives the company an upper hand in the market and enables it to compete with the other companies.
The company’s hierarchy culture is oriented towards the structure and control, which mainly focuses on stability, efficiency, and doing things right. Booker Ltd has a strong managerial structure that discharges duties to provide company stability and prosperity. The over-site committee, which is made up of the shareholder, offers the overall leadership to the company (Yoon et al., 2018). The able manager is in charge of the company’s day-to-day functions; he is assisted by the various dedicated departmental heads who support him to deliver the best out of the company.

The company makes use of the latest and classic science in her production and service delivery. The use of newly developed machinery and ideologies combined to bring the company’s scientific aspect (Lo et al., 2019). The company embraces the new scientific methods of shoemaking, which is much quicker and effective, thus keeping them up in the global market rank. Shoes are produced based on the prevailing scientific trends in the world market and customer demands. The company’s management is done using the new scientific methods of and technology, and the company is operated by some automated machines built with modern science. The use of robots in the company to discharge various duties is one modern science the company is using to carry out her activities.

The company is owned and operated by an oversite committee who are the shareholders of the business. The business manufacture and sale different brands of shoes across the world, carry out advertisement through social media platforms and embrace online selling or marketing. The company welcomes new technologies to increase the performance and competitiveness of the business in the market. The company has a very innovative workforce that helps the company create new ideas that help the company to be able to compete fairly in the stiffly competitive market.
