Pollock’s Mural
Jackson Pollock was working for the federal art project. His work in the museum is non-objective representation. That is he focus on things that cannot be seen. He employs horizontal lines referred to as dashes of red and blue. He used alkyd enamel in painting. And normally employs household paints in his art work. He described it as the use of household paint, a natural growth out of need. He goes further to state that he uses a hardened brass and a basting syringes to apply paints. That meant that he was pointing out of necessity. He loved pointing therefore he used what was available (Hunter et al., 15). His work is contemporary, prominently featured with black and white colors on a large converse. The strong colors are interspersed with dashes of red and blue.
The only medium that Jackson preferred in his work was paint on canvas. He preferred using different paints. He began his carrier using traditional points that he acquired easily. He would take the shortest time possible to finish a piece of work. The largest paint that he did was accomplished in an hour.
Art is the expression of thoughts, imaginations or application of creative skills and imagination, typically in visual form that include paintings, production work, which is appreciated basically for beauty or emotional power. Feminism itself is an art. It is a class of art that define how feminist view and thinks about everything surrounding women. In that case they express their thought either through music, drawing, painting, or producing a visual figure. In this case an artist would bring them to its audience through paints in order to engage them to think critically rather than taking it as paper and paint or just a historical narrative.
I chose feminism because it has been a large movement all over the world and therefore if it becomes an art then it must have influence large number of people. Consider the themes that the art address, constructs and performance of masculinity and femininity, the persona is politics and the politics is personal, and history, myth, and narration-deconstruction and reconstruction (Garber et al., 20). Feminists believe that women position in the society was taken by males therefore deconstructed their roles hence the art is becoming proactive to reconstruct the gender and their roles. The feminism art categorically align with practice of politics and Women’s Rights Movements.
Feminism as an art is view negatively in the society. This is referred to formal analysis where people do not need to interpret what they see and hear. In such a case if people see a demonstration for Women’s Right then they would pass judgement on such and dismiss them as non-essential in the society (Deepwell et al., 7). However, art provides us with an additional analysis where one interpreted what he/she hear or see and reads. At this point the person uses the critical abilities to interpret what the art stands for. Through that discussions such as gender mainstreaming pop up and people would realizes that all the gender needs equity.
In conclusion art is very important in human life, whether it be simple or sophisticated. It can be abstract or representational but all the way it communicates a message to people about a theme or ideology in life. Therefore it is important for people to appreciate art and learn from it. Art is educative and it enlarges our scope in life.
