Planned Parenthood
The federal-level legislator I have chosen is Ted-Cruz and is the senator for Texas. His father is Cuban, and his mother had an American origin; hence his ethnicity is Cuban. Ted’s religious affiliation states that he is a Catholic Christan and belongs to the Republican party, where he has been in office since 2013.
Ted Cruz suggested that his state legislature move fast and proceed with a bill prohibiting abortion after twenty weeks. Cruz said that the primary role of House bill 2 was to affirm protections of blameless, expected life, and improve the health and safety of Texas women. This bill aims to ensure that abortion services are not easy to access. A set of deterrent laws has led to the closure of some clinics that offer abortion services. Cruz feels that most of the members of his party, the Republicans supported abortion even at furthermost moments. However, the Republicans propelled for a confederate stop on abortion twenty weeks after conception and a need for medics to give treatment to little ones born after a set-out abortion.
Ted Cruz has actively defended Planned Parenthood. Cruz has slim chances to succeed in funding the battle even with undercover videos claiming to show that Planned Parenthood and its associates are selling fetal flesh for again. Planned Parenthood retracted the arraign and expressed the undercover videos to be illusively edited. Jason Stanford, a strategist for Planned Parenthood, praised Ted for being a talented political leader who seeks assistance by appealing to the wants and prejudices of ordinary people rather than using persuasive argument. Cruz attended a conference with about one thousand pastors, which was made possible by David Lane. In this conference, Cruz is said to have told the pastors to widely preach about the need to cut off Planned Parenthoods federal funding and ensure the gathering got the message on Planned Parenthood.
The similarities showing between Ted Cruz and the members of the Republic party were that the party members believed in the voting rights, among others, and is evident because the party members actively took part in campaigning for their preferred candidate. Another example is the support for his bills. The party members, approximately sixty –percent of the population, supported Ted’s bill against abortion. The members of the Republic political party are the interest group in my assignment. His age, educational background, the fact that he belongs to that country, his class, religion, and gender. The interest group wanted a party representative, and they knew him to be a social, movement, and a constitutional conservative. He had already shown numerous leadership qualities which such as supporting free trade, defending the United States as well as implementing a regular tax for all individuals.
I think Ted Cruz was able to win in the recent elections because he is famous and remains popular with Texas conservatives. Also, republicans continue to dominate Texas both politically and culturally. In the United States House district, Ted Cruz secured over seven million votes, having topped in twelve areas and earning five hundred and fifty-nine delegates. The ethnic groups that participated in the elections were whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics, and the Native Americans. Cruz was the first presidential candidate to be announced from the Republican party in the year 2016. During his campaign, he also earned support from other factions from his party, such as the libertarian conservatives. Tony Cruz was an incumbent officeholder. He served as the junior United States Senator for Texas. I feel that having been in the office previously is a factor that contributed to his getting elected. Ted Cruz was already famous for what his supporters described him as intelligent, very patriotic, and always stood up for ordinary citizens. Cruz’s significant positions on issues such as abortion and immigration made him famous. Also, Ted is has been against communism, same-sex marriage, legalization of marijuana, and supports the rights of gun possessions, which may promote security.
I would gladly take part in the next election. Voting is a responsibility for citizens, and the law requires us to vote to exercise democratic rights. Voting allows citizens to get themselves a leader in whom they have complete trust in their issues, such as ideas and interests. I would vote to keep Cruz, my legislator. My confidence with his previous tasks in different offices would make me vote him in. He is a vocal man of the people and always stands up for the ordinary citizen. He is an elegant speech deliverer, and in most times, his speeches are captivating and full of lessons. Think of a political leader who is this humorous. “There is no substantive due-process right to stimulate one’s genitals for non-medical purposes unrelated to procreation or outside of an interpersonal relationship.”My cultural and family background would not affect my vote because elections are not about family or culture but good leadership resulting in development.
