Decision-making is part and parcel of every human being. We make decisions every hour, depending on the situations going through our minds and plans for both future and the current time. Some of the decisions are either bad or good. The decisions we make, they have either bad or good outcome. A good decision is one that one makes after deliberately thinking, assessing the possible outcome, and choosing correctly from the various alternatives. In contrast, a bad decision is what one makes intentionally while not taking into what the results of courses of action could be.
In this case, I discuss two scenarios to explain a bad decision with a good outcome and a good decision with a bad outcome. When I was in my second year at the university, I decided to drop out of university and start a business of my choice. I withdrew all my school fees to start a real estate agency business. My parents mocked me for making such a decision, which was thought to be worst because they had invested a lot in my education. For the first two years, the market was tough, and things didn’t go as expected. I did not give up, but I hoped the best would come. Later the real-estate and property management business started to pick well. Now I am making millions from this business. My parents are now enjoying the fruits of a bad decision I made while I was a student.
On the other hand, my dad hired an accountant who used to be his financial advisor. He trusted him so much. The accountant used to manage his properties and assets. The accountant understands the strengths and weaknesses of his employer. One day, the accountant sold the prepared documents well and sold my dad’s property to a foreigner without his employer’s consent. He flew to a foreign country and settled there. Now my dad is left stranded here.
In conclusion, when making a decision, one needs to be independent of other thoughts. This is because nowadays, others’ decision to be bad is yielding the best rewards.
