Personal Statement
Since time immemorial, money has been there and has become one of our society’s essential aspects. Ultimately, with time while growing up until now, I have realized that economics is one of the most critical aspects of how society operates. A point to note is that both economic and financial issues affect our ways of life day in and day out. Therefore, without a stable economic perspective in the world, everything would come to a standstill. I must say that life is full of challenges, but everything always falls into place with determination and hard work. As an international student, I have a bachelor in business economy and passed a CFA level 1 exam. Additionally, I am currently a level 2 candidate with five-year working experience in multiple positions at different companies. None the less, I wish to study an MSc in financial economics at your university.
Why am I interested in the subject? I must say that I have always had a keen interest when it comes to any given business environment. Additionally, I have a yearning to understand how the business world operates in terms of finance and economics and how various aspects contribute to economic stability, among other relevant factors. Consequently, to how the financial world functions, my keen interest was also stirred with the fact that the world could fall without a good stable economy such as the fall of Wall Street in the year 1929 and the financial crisis that occurred in the year 2007. On the other hand, my excitement for the subject is that the knowledge obtained about the economy will be essentially vital in analyzing and solving the risks involved in the financial world and economics.
Having a bachelor in the business economy will help me further understand the course as I have enough knowledge and information on financial economics. Additionally, the knowledge I have will help me understand different aspects related to financial economics in terms of calculations and projections. Further, the knowledge acquired in my bachelor’s degree will also be vital in making or coming up with relevant decisions on financial economics. During my time in school, I was actively involved in economic projects such as marketing completion that helped me become creative and innovative with ideas.
Additionally, working in multiple positions such as the marketing director and finance office assistance in different companies have essentially helped me practice my skills and also obtain new skills in the given field. Therefore, I believe that my skills and personal experiences make me the perfect student to undertake financial economics studies. My primary interest in studying in the UK as an international student is to gain global experience in finance and economics matters. Additionally, studying in the United Kingdom will be vital in learning new world-class experiences. Ultimately, studying in the United Kingdom other than my country will help me understand diversity and how the outside world operates.
In conclusion, with my keen interest in the business environment in learning more on how the economic world operates and the current knowledge that I have on various economics aspects, I believe that learning the UK will be essentially vital in further developing my diverse skills on the matters of finance and economics. Moreover, the skills obtained when participating in different projects in various companies will one day help me gain a significant position in an international company and, in turn, get a chance to understand how they undertake their financial operations.
