O.J Simpson case
In the O.J Simpson case, the blood testimony conclusion provided by Dr. Lee and McDonald was important because it helped to bolster the multiple attacker theory presented by the defense (The O.J. Simpson Case: The Sock Evidence, 2009). By demonstrating the possibility of multiple attackers at the scene of the crime, the two witnesses were able to demonstrate that the prosecution had failed to prove its assertions case beyond a reasonable doubt. This provided the jury with the grounds that they needed to find Mr. Simpson not guilty of the charge leveled against him.
Through an analysis of the facts of the case, it is evident that the time factor was extremely important in establishing the timeline of events on the night of the murder. The timeline sought to evaluate if O.J had sufficient time to murder his departure to the airport (The O.J. Simpson Case: The Sock Evidence, 2009). Another factor that made the time factor important is the fact that O.J’s testimony of the timeline contradicted that which was given by the witnesses. The establishment of a proper timeline would have helped the prosecution to evaluate whether or not O.J was at the house during the time of the murder or whether his alibi was sufficient enough to absolve him of the charge.
I believe that the evidence against O.J was not planted. The belief stems from the fact that recent revelations had demonstrated that the gloves did not fit because O.J Under the direction of his defense had stopped taking his arthritis medication two weeks before the date of wearing the gloves (Guerrasio, 2016). This caused his hands to swell significantly to the extent that the gloves could no longer fit (Guerrasio, 2016). Based on this, it is logical to hold that if he would have continued taking his medication, the gloves would have fit his hands and proved they were his.
From reading the case, it is logical to argue that the evidence collection and investigation process by the police was poorly done. It is also my opinion that the case was not fairly conducted as O.J managed to recruit a lot of experts to testify in his favor and coach in on how to conduct himself during the proceedings.
