National Security
Though the greatest struggle of the twenty-first century lies in unleashing the liberty of the populace of a particular nation through short term and long term planning, the federal government have to deploy all the available mechanism to inundate this challenge. The government has to increase its paramilitary capability by equipping the soldiers with the knowledge, skill, and weapons required to combat terrorism fully. Additionally, this commitment to protecting human dignity and assured economic and political freedom will enable the United States of America to exploit their people’s potential and assure future prosperity, hence benefiting from their labor fruits. The government may either use mass destruction weapons, particularly to destroy terrorists harboring territories or strengthen their militia tactics through institutions.
When it comes to eliminating terror activities, not even privacy would matters. No wonder the United States took the bold step to attack Qasem Soleimani using the highly modified US drone. Well, some may argue that this interfered with the autonomy of his life and particularly his privacy, and more so, it interfered with Iraq’s autonomy in its governance. Others may contend that it violated the UN charter, but all that matters is Americans’ safety, whether residing in America or any other part of the world.
An undisputed solution to terror activities lies in enhancing militia skills and knowledge that helps the security organs deal with four priorities to aid US security organs to strike the terror groupings without their prior knowledge. Four priorities action is embodied in democracy and tends to prevent attacks by terrorist networks. The hardcore among the terrorist can neither be deterred nor be reformed. However, the federal government should pass a statute that allows privacy invasion when investigating whether an individual is associated with any terror grouping. In addition to this, the judicial arm should try its best to uphold this statute whenever challenged in a court. This will help the security organs track the terrorist, arrest them, and eliminate them without their knowledge (Bush, 2009). However, it calls for collaboration among all the levels of governance. The local government should inform both the state and national governments about any suspected terror groupings. This will enhance investigation by investigative agencies to determine whether this is a terrorist group. More so, it aids the security agencies to attack them and neutralize their capacity to operate since an ambush attack give the terrorist little time to prepare. More so, the government is curtailing the terrorist’s mobility by completely denying them entry into the United States by boosting the already laid technological networks that recognize fake travel documents (Bush, 2009). The federal government is so keen to defend all her entry points, and more so, the potential targets of attacks such as schools, places of worship, public transport, and any other locality that the innocent civilian gathers (Shultz& Vogt, 2003). Besides that, the federal government is boosting its efforts in demining terrorists’ control of any nation that they can use as their launching base for terror attacks. Global terrorists are integrated so that they are so many sub terror groups operating in parts of the globe; doing so will decrease the probability of attacking free nations in the world, including the sovereign United States.
The second strategy would be institutionalizing war against terrorists using both domestic and international institutions. Winning the war against terrorists calls for proper mobilization to enhance awareness, thereby inducing cooperation among various government levels and the community. Sovereign nations possess sovereign responsibility for enhancing the safety of their citizens. This includes using all institutions available to support the war against terrorism and, at the same time fostering and upholding intercontinental standards of culpability. The united nation Security Council resolution has developed various frameworks and guidelines to improve border control, curtail terrorism financing, promote sharing of information, and law enforcement cooperation to fully subdue terrorists’ enlistment (Winer& Roule, 2002). The United States of America collaborates with its international partners to promote international compulsions to meet terror activities’ surfacing nature. The US attributes her success against al-Qaida and other terror organizations to an effective partnership. This demands the federal government to strengthen these coalitions to inundate terror activities throughout the United States territory and, therefore, enhance her people (Winer& Roule, 2002). The US should seize some regional and international organizations’ comparative advantage, which will completely help the nation inundate terror activities.
It is only through institutions that the nation can foster both human capital and intellectual capability building. The general society should be imparted with self-defense techniques to reduce fatalities whenever terrorist attacks. With the collaboration of state authority, the federal government is training citizens on how to use their personal weapons, hence enhancing their escape whenever terror activities face them. Additionally, the federal government is expanding the existing curricula with programs that will focus on teaching counterterrorism strategies, plans, and policies and formulate appropriate areas of study such as religious philosophies. More so, the federal government has assumed the obligation of allocating adequate funds to the security agencies to curb the ever-evolving terror activities.
An individual may argue that investigating anyone without their prior knowledge infringes on the individual’s privacy. Besides, they may argue that some of the Americas’ weapons may be used to facilitate terror attacks. Obviously, when individuals know that they are being investigated, they will try to act as lawful as possible, perhaps making the investigative agencies not capture the needed evidence. When it comes to gun control, the state has the authority to determine who is eligible to own a defense weapon. It has the authority to deprive the lawbreakers of owning a gun hence minimizing the probability of using legally issued weapons to carry out terror activities. More so, the opponent of the above-mentioned ideas must never forget that legally issued weapons can be used to self-defend the owners during a life-threatening situation.
