Literary Analysis discussion board assignment on Beauty and The Beast
Beauty and the Beast is a traditional fairy tale written and published in 1976 by a French novel writer Jeanne-Marie. She adapted her story from the more extended version published by Madame Gabriel Suzanne (Hearne 45). The fairy tale discusses physical appearance (beauty) and love. The name Belle is a French name that means beautiful and also evident as Hearne writes, “Beauty is depicted as saintly as well as lovely (44). Love is almost mentioned and transparent throughout the fairy tale. In one case, Beast becomes attracted to Belle and proposes to marry her, but she declined because she has promised her love for a handsome prince. The tale secretly teaches kids that they should be rich or physically beautiful to be loved by rich people. The characters in the films represent the community with romantic adults and didactic kids. The film presents several symbols, such as the glass-encased rose flower that symbolizes love. Other signs in the movie include a forest, cottage, castle, and the youngest daughter. The film’s plot and setting are essential as both reveals where the events unfolded, and conflict functions as the force that builds up the events leading to the climax.
