Saverich Co. Ltd is non-deposit taking microfinance located in Kansas City. The company and its clients rely on computer networks in all our operations, making our e-business increasingly vulnerable to security threats. The company policy requires that the management reviews and makes recommendations for improvements to the company’s network security system at least once a year.
Industry and Type of Data We Store/Process
The company serves government employees in Kansas County and other neighboring counties. Due to many customers and the nature of financial operations, which are exclusively online, its network security is extremely paramount. Saverich is in the custody of the personal information of many former and current clients, which must be securely stored. It also manages its data, including bank statements, audited accounts reports, and loan deduction reports.
Compliance
The project will be conducted in accordance with the statutes provided in the Kansas City’s Code of Ordinances concerning project management and establishment of organizational data management (City of Kansas, 2020). The Code of Ordinances requires that the company takes responsibility of its own physical and internet security.
Business Purpose
The company seeks to develop a network security system to protect its public internet, computer network in the company premises, private computers of employees handling the company’s data, and data related to its e-commerce. The company intends to develop a new network security to protect the business and its customers from the risk of any form of cybercrime (Watson, C. (2019).
