Importance of Education

Dear Joy and Roy

In composing this letter to you, I ponder what to say exactly. Presently, the world is in turbulence and transforming virtually at the same rate the earth is rotating. I am not aware of what it will be like while you are reading this memo, but the only valuable thing I can offer is my advice on the importance of education. In my days, the society you live in sounds unusual due to the level of innovation and technology. This letter comes intending to point out the importance of education in life. Only through training; you will both learn how to maximize the use of technology and supremacy in your fingertips.

Back then, when I was growing up, education was only for the fortunate families since poverty was a major issue in Africa. The number of schools in our country was minimal, with a lack of learning materials and facilities. Teachers faced rough challenges in playing their roles. There was no motivation or solid reasons why one could attend school. My parents believed that education was a waste of resources and was of disrupting our African culture. I am happy that the predicament facing education those days passed. Presently, with free education, the impact of education in our society is quite evident. I hope you take that opportunity and transform your lives through the knowledge you acquire from learning institutions.

Earlier, I was terminated from the job that I had acquired through corruption. I am telling you this to learn from my mistake as there are numerous ways of learning in life. I had applied for a secretarial job without qualifications oblivious of what was to happen in the future. My termination was immediate and embarrassing though I learned a lot from that instance. I tried to apply for many jobs afterward but in no vain. Every situation in my adulthood required degree or diploma certificates, which I never had. I had declined to join my tertiary education as I never saw the necessity for learning further. But it was during this time when I noticed knowledge was essential. I toiled for days without finding a job until I had to enroll in my university studies. After I graduated, I acquired a professional position, and with time I was elevated after my master’s degree. Education unlocked my future, and I was able to achieve my goals and live my dreams.

Our complications may not have the same impact or names, but education offers solutions to most issues of life. Though, I have high expectations because I know your parents value education just like I taught them. It is my wish and desire that you mimic and learns from your elders. Work hard in subjects like mathematics for better careers in your future (Nguyen 60). Take big chances in life and discover new ideas through learning. Engage yourselves in physical education to nature your talents because it is part of learning (Whigham 493). I am sure Malcom X will be famous in your day, but he is essential in my day. According to Giorgia, Malcom said that schooling is a permit or key to our future, and only those who prepare today shall see tomorrow (110).

Finally, I feel like there is nothing new, I have said in this memo. Life is about learning from all channels and listening to our teachers. Be obedient to everyone, and you will discover that a combination of education and obedience will get you to place you never dreamed. Through training, you will achieve your dreams and careers (Yeo 57). Education is a bridge between poverty and wealth. Lastly, a joyous, prosperous, and productive life is about the balance of education you learn at school and at home. In school, you will acquire knowledge while at home, you will gain virtues.

Yours truly,

Grandpapa.
