God’s Kingdom is the universal rule over all the creatures on the world that is either a non- living or a living being. God created humankind in his image and likeness and gave him the rules on the garden of Eden, where man failed to do as per God’s instruction and followed Satan’s guide dance. After that, our loving God became angry with man and decided to leave us here in the world as he went to his father. Adam and Eve were the lineages from Abraham that will bless the eternal Kingdom and the world, including the messiah, the rock whose words and deeds reveal God’s spiritual realm. Jesus proclaimed the coming of the realm (matt.4:17) by teaching about God’s Kingdom in parables to the as he also explains the nurture of the domain; for instance, his work, like the casting out of demons by the spirit, proclaims his Kingdom. The Christ mission was always to his people to Jerusalem and sacrificed himself by dying on the cross to salvation to the Gods people. After his ascension, he left the world to heaven to be with his father at his right hand, a place that was far above every authority and power forever.
It was after Jesus had sent out the holy spirit to the church at the day of Pentecost to his disciples that God’s Kingdom enlarges as many came to him, believing he is the King of kings and father of all. In Acts (2; 41, 47: 4:4), Peter the disciple explained that God would rescue the sinners from the life of darkness and take them to the Kingdom of the Son he loves. (col.1:13-14). The mission of Jesus had already become into history, which is evident that Gods reign is present and future to come; therefore, for one to be able to enter the Kingdom, he/she requires the repentance because our savior will omit the current life way of the world and the new way of living and God’s rule embraced. Therefore, as Christians, we need to understand that repentance is the way to enter the Kingdom and the way of the Kingdom. In the book of New Testament, it’s written about Christ who will come back and rule as the King of victory, peace, and love creating the tension between the “already and the not yet” since we live in a wait for his second coming that is not clear when it will be. This Kingdom was established by the Israelites, inaugurated with Christ in his coming and achieved in the events of Christ’s death and resurrection. However, the kingdom effects have begun their full result awaits for the second coming of Christ. As Christians, we believe that Christ will come back again for his people, and therefore we wait for his coming by following his footsteps by doing the things he had done before and which he will still come back and do again, like praying for the sick in church and keeping his temple holy.
Jesus himself brought the ministry of his Kingdom in an earthly manner that it expands at the Pentecost, where believers wait for his second coming when he shall come with his glory sitting on his glorious throne (matt 25:31), after which the angels will announce the Kingdom of the world has become the Lord’s territory. Therefore he shall rule forever and ever. And at this point is when Jesus will judge his people by calling the believers to claim the Lord’s Kingdom while sending lost sheep to eternal punishment; after that, he shall give back the Kingdom to God the father. The reformed earth and new heaven will be the last stage of God’s Kingdom. Even though Jesus had won his victory, the battle is still on with us till his second coming (1 pet.5:8), so as believers, we shall only conquer as God’s people if only we give ourselves to him. During the arrival of God’s Kingdom, all the pains and struggles will become the past by the grace of God, and the believers win with Christ all the human way of life in the world will flourish as Jesus brings the Kingdom of experience to his people. (Rev.11:15).
As believers, we believe heaven belongs to the Gods people who serve King of Judah day and night as their kingdom subjects forever and ever. It’s through Christ that the believers overcome death to be with the mighty father in heaven, and in the resurrection, the end will vanish. When Jesus called himself the messiah, it means that he associated himself with the community. Therefore people in the city could tell these as reality since he could call both males and females to accompany him and for those who followed him were his shepherds that God wished to give the Kingdom. He called the community his church since he had one mission to them to be characteristically his own so that when they tend to perform any task, they could see the reality of Christ himself in them; therefore, he was the King in whom the Kingdom of God had become present reality on his deeds.
However, as a result of his Kings of power, the church is the community when people gather together to worship and praise his name, his presences are always with them, but these do not mean that the church is the Kingdom, the society of men. Through the gift of the Holy Spirit, God’s Kingdom had to continue even after the day of Pentecost. These are seen when his disciples asked him about the domain; he told them that they would receive the Holy Spirit, meaning the Kingdom of God had broken into history in Jesus Christ. He continues to act through the Holy Spirit, as seen in the past to date. There was a significant role of the Holy Spirit since it builds an understanding of God’s Kingdom and the church.
Historically, Anglicans had main stages; thus, the spread of communion and development could speak many languages even though they came from different cultural backgrounds and racism. They uphold the catholic and apostolic faith following the lessons of Jesus Christ to spread the gospel and the good news. In practice, this is based on the revelation contained in Holy Scripture and the Catholic creeds and is interpreted in light of Christian tradition, scholarship, reason, and experience in some of the rites such as baptism and sacraments and Holy Communion, which would honor the ordinations, marriages, reconciliation and confirmation within the Christians. For instance, the baptism was an open sacrament to both the children and adults in the tradition, and up to now, it’s still done in the form of the name of the Father, Son, and the holy spirit. The book of prayer used in the early century has now been changed to a new version of today’s life but still reflects the expression of the principles found within the church and other Christian churches.
When there are many churches engaged in a significant internal dispute, there is a temptation that raises to retreat a truncated catholicity, for instance, in the Anglican Communion, where increased final responsibility determines controvertible matters happening at the local levels like the province level. The tension and the interdependent between the provinces of the fellowship are too forfeited. It implies that catholicity has some of the hallmarks of a schismatic spirit, and today in the western churches, it is powerfully present, not merely for the Anglican Communion.
In response to the impacts, God, who had intervened in the past to initiate the work, is the same who is still acting and will forever proceed to operate until its conclusion. As written in the New Testament that Jesus was here on earth performing certain miracles like raising the dead; the same Christ will come back again to raise the dead on the second coming. Whites would influence the BCP’s reform for the Kingdom of Christ within and out of our particular time. And if the tradition is the mind that Christians share as believers and member of the church thus it stresses the impact of interfaith contacts in an encounter, just like the Last Super where they disciples shared their meal with Jesus when he told them that one of them would deny him before the cock crocks three times and the disciples were like who could that be, and at the end, Christ himself told them that Peter would do these in favor of his life forgetting that it’s through Christ our Lord that we all live.
I am proud of the Anglican family’s apostolic, catholic, evangelical, and new tradition, which is a spiritual home for many people in its local and international expressions. Meantime, we are living in the already and not yet of the Kingdom, worshiping our messiah and waiting for his return for the second time so that when he comes, we shall all be rejoicing and singing the praise and worship song for he shall create a new Eden of God’s Kingdom in the new heavens and new earth for his people to inherit the Gods kingdom.
