Global Art Reporter – Contemporary Comparison.
As a resident of Fiesta Village, I selected on the Padua Hills art portraits for analysis. This work of art traced back to 1953 but continues to be a great work and most loved in the community. The portraits are a representation of the culture of the people (George,15). They are loved by many and are massively sold in the community because they represent and communicate on the people’s exact state.
In comparison to the previously selected artifact in Egypt, which was the modeling of the Egyptian gods, the two works of art are similar in such a way that they represent the community. The people use the pantheon of gods of Egypt for purposes of worship, protection, and prosperity. In Fiesta, too, the paintings and drawings express what people think, feel, and want to be done. The evident difference between the two forms of artwork is that Egyptian art is purely meant to be forms of worship. The Fiesta work of art, on the other hand, represents the daily events in the community. Should something happen in the community, the portraits are used to present what has happened. Therefore, art in current times, just like art that emerged from ancient days, represents the community’s cultural beliefs, the people, and other general events. Art can thus be termed as a way of communicating. The existence of a certain form of art in a place is used to pass a message. The image may be an object of worship and, thus, when installed, signifies the presence of a holy place or a representation of the community’s events.
