Girl scouts
The Girls Scout of the United States, also known as the Girls Scout, is a youth organization for girls in the United States and American ladies living abroad. The agency was formed by Gordon Low in 1912 and was organized after Low met Robert, the founder of the scouting in 1911. After completing, they returned to savanna, Georgia, where she telephoned his distant cousin, saying that he had something good for the girls in the nation and all of the American continent and was initiated that night (Tedesco, 2018). It was the first and initial steps towards the start of the agency, and Girls Scouting came into exist stance. The Girls scouting prepares girls through empowering them to promote courage, compassion, confidence, entrepreneurship, leadership, and active citizenship through various activities like community service, camping, earning badges, and learning first aid through acquiring practical skills (Tedesco, 2018). Their efforts have been recognized and rewarded by different special awards and awarding groups, including the Silver and Bronze Awards and the Girls Scouts. Additionally, the girl’s scout has been organized according to grades with the different activities designed for each level.
About Girls Scouting
Initially, the organization was formed to serve girls aged only between the ages 10-18 years but has since been divided and the population to be performed by the Organization has for the few years increased. The three groups divided to serve within the Organization and provide quality services are the brownies, composed of the younger girls, senior scouts consisting of girls aged between 18 and over 16 years, and the intermediates aged ten years to 16 years (Tedesco, 2018). In 1965, the age structure within the Organization was changed and rearranged to accommodate more groups within the network and bring more importance to the Organization. In 2003, the Organization introduced the Seniors and Candettes. From this and under the Studio 2B, girls worked on different traditional badges and 2B activities. In 2008, all the levels included were renamed to accommodate the Girl Scout at the beginning of their name. Additional names and groups were created and made to accommodate more girls with different age groups (Tedesco, 2018). However, the troop membership has and will always be the most common way of participating in Girls Scouting who lack Local troop. Currently, the group contains a total of 1.8 Million scouts with a national headquarter and smaller sub-groups. The Organization is a non-profit organization. They offer different services to girls trying to become scouts in the future and better their future lives through various leadership activities.
The Organization’s mission has been to enable girls and young women to develop to their fullest potential and turn into responsible people and citizens worldwide. On the other hand, the vision statement has been that all girls should be valued and take proper actions to change and alter the world.
Why Was the Agency Selected?
For a long time, I have been aspiring to join the scouting movements within the nation. It has been a long time trying to come into terms with the best method to learn and become a good scout. The Organization’s objective and mission has been making girls across in America. The Organization’s mission has been to make girls great leaders in the future (Tedesco, 2018). Results from the Organization and people who have passed through the organization systems have replicated the Organization’s needs and, hence, better people in the community and are on with their bright lives. The Organization’s best results to those who have passed through the organization systems have made more incredible progress in their lives. From this seen case and scenarios, I consider joining the institution and getting the best as other people have passed through the Organization and moved on with their lives. Most of the population within the Organization is close to me. Hence, I feel highly connected to them, and that shortly, I will have got in and achieved outstanding achievements like other people who have passed through the same system (Tedesco, 2018). I chose to join the agency out of greater convenience I have.
Positive attributes about the Organization
Since the Organization started, it has developed from a small agency to help girls turn their lives into excellent quality. Through many years of development, the Organization has dived (Tedesco, 2018). It is a positive attribute to girls and young women in the center of all critical works in both global and regional levels with both the vision and the mission needs and statements at the center of development are the core things at the center of every crucial decision that the Organization should make and take in empowering women’s across the globe (Tedesco, 2018). Through fulfilling its mission and vision statements, the Organization has achieved many positive things that have made me choose to place my life needs in developing through the Organization.
Negative Attributes About the Agency
A closer look at the Organization’s different development areas shows that the positive attributes outweigh the negatives even though not every bit of the Organization is at 100%, no notable negatives that can be pointed out (Tedesco, 2018). However, the small negatives that can be pointed out from the Organization are that it has concentrated on working on a national basis for a long time. Hence, going global would mean that the Organization is attaining its attributes of achieving its objectives and will be grown in the future.
How to improve the Organization
Being the most extensive and most prominent non-profit Organization dedicated to young women and girls in the world means that there is a need for combined efforts to be initiated in the Organization and to make it move in the right direction while attaining its much-needed objectives through its mission and vision. As a result, more efforts are needed from different bodies worldwide to make the Organization get enough funds to run various operations within the Organization of empowering girls and young women within the Organization (Tedesco, 2018). To make it reach in different areas across the globe, the Organization should increase its awareness levels to its most esteemed nations and increase its clients, hence making the organization grow and achieve its dreams. From researching the Organization, I have noticed that it is a great organization to empower young women and positively develop them.
Conclusion
For a long time, the Organization has been operating in the Organization and has made people achieve the best results. To understand and get enough knowhow of the Organization and how it has helped improve the young girl’s movements across the globe, the organization needs to improve on different vital aspects to move the Organization in the right direction.
