Farming as a passion
Farming has been the oldest task since time immemorial. Whether we believe in Christianity or the principle of evolution, agriculture has been the sole means for the human race to survive and thrive in this world. However, it has been like a second chance to tender and care for something and have a role in creation. Personally, the whole activity of farming acts like a baby to me; the idea that I can plant a seed, care for it, and watch it grow and produce similar offspring is exhilarating. Consequently, this paper seeks to discuss farming as my favorite activity that I hold expertise in, the importance of the activity, and how everyone can partake in the activity.
Discussion
Farming to many people remains a means of livelihood in that it is their only way to crack the path to having a meal on the table. In my opinion, farming is the sole activity that every human being can partake in creation without fear of failure or mishap and control the process. I inject passion and persistence into my act of farming that enables me to achieve the intended results with little effort. Additionally, farming acts as a means for me to practice my tendering and caring craft that I find best applicable to plants, which are my objects of desire.
For an individual to crack it at farming just the way I do it, passion with plants and willingness to devote your time to it is the initial step towards success. Although many farmers seasoned in creating an aspect of farming will antagonize my statement, my stance remains passion is the only essential requirement. In my mind, I believe that farming can be done in almost any sphere of life without conventional needs ranging from land to materials such as tillers and planters. Any individual interested in farming can start it at a place uncommon to the world, your own house. The idea of bringing agriculture closer home helps instill more passion for the activity.
My experience in this is that while young, we had to move places quite a lot, and during that period, I learned that having a kitchen garden in your balcony is entirely possible. Through the utilization of sacks and borrowed earthen soil, any individual can begin farming and practice it while gaining experience on the same. Following this method, anyone can initiate the art of farming right at our personal space and ensure the art thrives within us. Therefore, the notion that the initiation of farming has a particular threshold that needs to be kept is null and void. Following this step, it is evident that anyone with a passion can have the first step in this satisfying event.
Following these initial steps, anyone can transform from a novice to an expert through adhering to patience and willingness to adopt a caring attitude. In his submission on the dualistic model of passion, Robert Vallerand posits that people engage in activities they hold passionate in a bid to grow as individuals. The model forms the basis of my love for farming. Through this passionate activity, I can grow as a person in terms of the cultivation of patience, caring, and problem-solving attributes, which are essential in farming. Therefore you, too, can cultivate your growth in life by embracing farming to achieve success.
Conclusion
Farming is the most intense activity that I hold highly in life due to its ability to instill great virtues in me. The art of farming serves different roles but can serve as the only way to achieve growth in life with a similar experience as mine or even in your context. Therefore, as an individual, you can engage in farming and ensure that it thrives within you by embracing the dualistic model of passion that can propel you towards growth in life.
