Concept of the Online Learning

In the concept of online education and learning, there are many factors that lead it to success and failure. To lead it to the successful part, it involves both sides including the student and the professor (Moawad 101). During the mid-19th century, the concept of online education started to raise, and it reached America in 1890’s. During the initial period, the concept of correspondence education started with radio and television in the United Kingdom while United States continued to use paper and the U.S mail service. Before 1990, the use of distance education did not reach peak time, but then in later mid-century, the universities started to use the distance and online education where it led three million students to adopted online education by 2010 (Forbes Ryan). However, students in major studies like technology, psychology, health and education had difficult times which made it difficult for the students to get adopt to the online education. The current pandemic issue Covid-19 has made online learning reach its limit to the sky with the concept of social distancing where the schools and colleges closed their doors to prevent the students from contracting Covid-19 (Calarco 1). Scholarly research articles show that the concept of online learning will be more useful and effective than the traditional system where the students gets improvised in their Efficiency of learning; Creative Thinking; Multi-Tasking.

In a student’s life, the efficiency of learning plays a major role when it comes to academics. The article from SAGE states that the students involved in the online education has higher efficiency of learning than the students involved in the traditional face-to-face class (Smith 7). The result came from the method called Multiple Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The article also indicates that how student can be effectively implemented and formatted for the use of Online classes and learning system (Smith 8). It is also stated in the article that the syllabus, lecture paper, assignments, exams and the grading systems used in the online class is as same as the methods used in the face to face class, where it does not make any difference in both these classes. For a student to get improvised in his life, lot of task takes place and in that list multitasking also gets involved. In the following paragraph, it shows how the multitasking placed position in the online class system.

According to the research from the professors Andrew Lepp, Jacob E Barkley, Aryn C karpinski and Shweta Singh, indicates that the students involved in the online class   shows their 100 percentage of Multi-Tasking in their academics (Lepp et al 6). The paper also proves that the younger students were more likely to multitask in online classes other than older students (Lepp et al 6). The Paper’s hypothesis also shows that the student explanation of multitasking in online course is higher than the explanation of multitasking in face-to-face traditional class (Lepp et al 4) In the end the article says that the college students involved in the online class shows good and more level of multitasking (lepp 1). When the multitasking gets improved with the students, the professor Sang-Hee Jin also states in his article about the creative thinking among the students who use the online class.

In the article from Sang-Hee Jin, the learners were given a real-world problem to solve with the acquired creative thinking method in their online classes to check on their creative thinking. In this method, a range of creative thinking methods have been taught to the learners to solve the problems (Jin 7). It shows that the students participated in the online class system resulted with more creative thinking method than the face to face class method. The paper also states that the online learning environment can be easily adapted y the students due to the ease of development and technology among the students (Jin 12).

However, the online education system has it own benefits, meanwhile this system also has handful of disadvantages where it makes a debatable issue when it comes to the point online or traditional face to face class systems. In the article from Edwin P Christman, he states that the students who attended the traditional face to face class overperformed the students who attended the online class in their grades. In another side the female students attending the online classes overperformed the male students in their online class while the male students who attended the traditional face to face course got higher grades than the female students (Christman 7).

When it comes to a conclusion, several scholar research and paper show that the Online class has numerous and effective numbers of benefits that help students and professors to complete their benefits. For example, the flexibility of being able to take a class or the course at any time or any day; the less-cost concept; travelling time and cost ..etc (Kenzig 2). It is also been proved that the students can use their own learning style in this online learning system which results in improvised mode of studies in the education system (Kenzig 2). Moreover, during the pandemic time period like the Covid-19 it is been proved that in the harder or in the difficult times the online education or learning system comes and stand in the first place to help the students to go in their track and to reach their destiny, where the traditional face to face class fails in that place.
