Additionally, students should consider their ability when choosing their major. Choosing what students is good, it will give them the opportunity to choose their majors at ease. As a result, this does not mean that students should choose what they are in school, but they should look at their talents (Levine). Talents in our world today has great potential, and people who work on their talents are paid a lot of money compared to people pain in their day jobs. Most students sometimes discover their talents when they are in college majoring on something else. For example, students can be good in sports, singing, acting and stand-up comedy while in school studying and different major. This shows that they can choose what they want to be in the future through their talents and be successful just like other careers. Basically, the main principle here is to make sure that students have something that they love doing and turning it into a career in the future.
In addition, another factor that determines the choosing of a major in the University or college is future employability. When the students think about what to major on the most look at the future careers that they believe are on demand and pay well. As a result, choosing a career that is not popular in the market can affect a student’s future career, and it will be a waste of time studying on the majors that will never be important to someone (Maggio). Generally, most students research the career that is demanded in the market by different organizations. Moreover, they make sure that the salary level is acceptable and is worth the job presented. For instance, different professions have a shortage of workers such as engineering, accounting, and finance, teaching and nursing. Despite looking on the shortages, students can also look at the growth of the industry. There is a growth of different industries that are experiencing a shortage of experiences such as data science. Within these industries there are a lot of job spaces that are available and the student’s efforts should lead them to majors that connect these careers. Furthermore, looking at future income potential in a specific major is an import factor that goes together with choosing a profession.
