The concept of race is not only contentious but also subjective. It is a social construct that varies depending on the person or the society to which the race question is addressed. Across the country, individuals have differing perceptions and understandings of race. The results of the 20 adults survey confirm this position. Naturally, if something is factual, it cannot be perceived differently from one person to the other. No one can deny that someone who is 40 years old is an adult because it is a fact. However, the idea of race shows a different conceptualization of identity, which seems to change from one society to another. This mixed understanding of race explains why 6 of the 20 participants in the survey viewed it as something only made real by convention. Further, five out of the six could not identify with any race. Four said they were “human”, while one, Participant VF, clarified that he had no race list and could not answer when asked about his race. According to the responses of the five participants, race is subjective…
Firefighters basic and professional knowledge Firefighters play a crucial role in society. Fire accidents occur more often in every setting. Firefighters must, therefore, have basic and professional knowledge concerning fires and firefighting to perform their duties effectively. There are six classes of fires, A, B, C, D E and F (Extinguishers, 2020). This classification is based on the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) standards. creative story A few years back, when I was at the University, we left for the long holiday, and I went home knowing that I had to study hard to improve in my studies since I was joining my senior year. When I got home, my parents told me to focus on exemplary performance during my final year. Besides, my friends and I practiced surfing, a sport we were passionate about, near our neighborhood’s beaches. My parents decided to have a family vacation to Miami for a fortnight before we could reopen schools. We were excited and knew I would be able to explore Miami’s deep waters and enjoy my time surfing. When we got to the beach, I found a sad and unhappy girl, staring at other people on the beach enjoying their precious moment. She held a broken surfing board, and I knew that it might be the reason for her silence. Therefore, I handed over my boars to her and decided to surf in shift and enjoy the moment. The girl was thrilled as she stared at…

Under these facts, are Uber drivers’ employees or independent contractors? Why? The discussion on whether an organizational worker is an employee or an independent contractor has been there since time immemorial. For instance, most of the workers are confronted with the dilemma of determining whether they are independent contractors or formally employed employees. However, this is not an easy question as it requires one to have a mastery of the requirements of both the employees’ contract and other contractual agreements with the clients.
