Critical infrastructure avails vital services that sustain society. This heavily relies on computerized systems and electronic data. However, serious cybersecurity threats are on the rise and present a grave national challenge making both the public and private sectors increasingly vulnerable. Consequently, efforts have been made to counter and control these types of crimes. Legislations such as the cyber security Act of 2012 and the executive order 13636 have been put in place both aimed at enhancing the pliability of the critical infrastructure and maintain an efficient cyber environment by developing a cyber-security framework. This, however, has been deterred by various conditions. Cybersecurity framework entails complex processes. For proper implementation, guidance has to be formulated, according to Jack .l (10) a review of the cybersecurity framework is needed to address the sector-specific risks and the diverse operating environments. The complexity limits implementation and makes the process tedious since various sectors have first to identify a cyber-security framework that is most beneficial to their entity. Cost Limitation. Inability to avail the required budgetary allocation towards adopting a cyber-security framework pause as a…
Thomas Paine’s call for freedom Introduction Thomas Paine’s Common Sense pamphlet came at the right time when the American people needed freedom from colonists. It presents both political and moral arguments advocating for cutting ties and acquiring freedom from Great Britain. Paine presents the writing in three sections; section three and the appendix play a critical role in outlining American problems that required solution only by freedom through independence rather than collaboration. This paper supports the argument that Thomas Paine’s call for freedom through independence was an excellent solution to America’s misfortunes from Britain’s colonialism. The primary themes in Paine’s Common Sense section three and appendix is the persuasion of the Americans to settle for independence freedom. Paine outlines to the people the various problems that came with the monarchy system of governance. In section three, Thomas explores the crisis facing the nation during the time. He carefully selects his language and style of presenting the ideas to convince the readers that it was foolish to continue their loyalty towards distant colonists. He explains to the people that pursuing reconciliation…
International Delphi study Name Course Instructor Institution Affiliation Date Abstract However, it has not gotten attention. This has led to study of communication crisis by use of delphi method where a panel of experts and scholars were used in the study, a consensus used to arrive at the findings. An international delphi study was conducted by involving 22 international crisis experts on communication crisis research and education. The findings was that there is need to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Delphi method use Delphi method has been applied to investigate the research state of communication crisis as well as education by use of experts (Schulte, 2017). In public relation it has been noted that there is progressive use of the method since late 1980 to 2010, where 25 Public relation publications are identified that contain a consensus by use of qualitative approach. There was realization that the existing studies in communication crisis had a limitation as they had used quantitative and descriptive approach rather than qualitative…
PD-13’s rules on not assisting other countries militarily The net result of PD-13’s rules on not assisting other countries militarily if they have human rights problems, ended-up degrading America’s national security situation, as well as many other Western countries, too. Countries that America previously supplied weapons to because it was in national security interest to do so, but, now their weak laws on child lab Make them ineligible for military-aid from the United States based on the rules in Carter’s PD-13. The net result was: they will buy the weapons they need elsewhere. Before the problems created by PD-13, the multi-billion dollar illegal private arms traders did not exist. Forcing human rights morality on countries before America would help them with arms led directly to the creation of the illicit market of components. Since another country’s human rights practices did not have a direct effect on US national security, although an admirable trait to improve upon, the net result of the illegal arms market had (and still does) a significant, negative impact on American national security. The preceding example clearly…
Part 1 Question 1 Well said, that ‘the white man dollar was his god’ with a meaning that making appeals to the pockets of the white man was never effective when compared to other appeals ever done before. For this reason, there was no reason to gain through further sacrifice of man hood as well as self-respect. The Afro-Americans can therefore demand and secure the rights He used this knowledge to try and influence the whites by showing that the afro Americans was the major partners of the south. Nevertheless, practice of the power of lynching localities could result to revolution that is blood less. Question 2 The anti-lynching crusaders made the lynching of the black women part of the discussion of the dryer bill because they wanted to show the critical race feminism. Indeed, true womanhood demanded the actual protection of the ladies who were whites by the white men. The true womanhood cult failed to embrace the black woman. There main aim was to eliminate lynching. For the period of 6 month, the leaders of the anti-lynching crusaders…
The recent personal experience of mission failure was during project research in the school tasks, whereby a group of six members was formed. I was assigned to be the secretary of the research group. The assignment was to research the business laws involved in all the many types of business organizations that we have in the economic market. The group activities were to survey all the regulations and policies that regulate the business activities, conduct interviews with the officers who handle the business activities, and inquire about the business laws’ needs. Therefore the most important data was to be taken down by the various members assigned the task of data collection. However, the mission failed terribly, and the reason for the failure was that some of our colleagues took some actions that were not part of the plan and realized that the fact that the efforts fell outside the mission, some members copied some information directly from some publications without prior written permission, thereby leading to our research being banned.
Universal Basic Income (UBI) Robert & Mimi (2018) describe UBI as an income policy with a record of failure idea. The policymakers who reform the state of welfare major in UBI; it is a government program where every adult citizen regularly gets a certain amount of money. The UBI system’s primary goal is to alleviate poverty and substitute it with other essential needs that require greater potentials and involvement of the bureau (Robert & Mimi, 2018). UBI has gained much momentum in the United States since its automation improves workers’ replacement in manufacturing industries and other economic sectors. Both UBI and Guarantee of Job opportunities are good complementary ideas. UBI is first an unconditional salary for everyone in the country. It is a job guarantee as an open-ended government commitment to improve living standards with many benefits to everyone who wants to receive it (Jeff, 2017). There are many arguments concerning UBI, which are discussed in this context; one of them is that it fights unemployment in the country. Although research has reported UBI’s role in fighting unemployment, there are…
Student’s Name Professor’s Name Course Date Who is an American? According to Eric Foner, American nationality constitutes both civic and ethnic definitions. In the history of American, African-Americans were not considered American citizens. Blacks were by then slaves and not regarded as constituent members of the society, as Edmund Randolph says. However, there is no definition according to the original constitution of who an American citizen is. Nevertheless, the constitution gave congress the power to create an equal naturalization system through the naturalization law of 1970, which gave the first interpretation of American nationality. Congress eliminated the procedure of free whites becoming citizens, and for a couple of years, only whites could become citizens through naturalization. Through the years, members of different ethnic groups were added to become citizens by naturalization. This included Asians and blacks. Professor Foner distinguishes citizenship in America from other parts of the world. He cites that the western worlds created the idea of freedom; however, not forgetting the west of worlds also invented race. These two beliefs give rise to nationalism. Scholars have differentiated liberal…
2, Costs and Benefits of using A Distributor Who Offers Shipping Discounts There are various benefits for companies that use a distributor who offers shipping discounts but takes a portion of the profits to avoid paying shipping costs. The main benefit of using such a distributor is an increased customer reach beyond the company’s limited capabilities if it used direct shipping. The more comprehensive customer reach attained through using a distribution channel means there is prospects for higher sales (Osborn, 2018). It also allows the company to focus on its core competencies and marketing efforts since the distributor would focus on offering logistical support to the company. This is because the distributor would meet the company’s supply chain needs. Sharing profits is the major cost of using such a distributor. However, the benefits of wider customer reach, coupled with more sales prospects, are enough incentives for sharing profits.
The drawbacks to a piece-rate plan include the following; Workers pay much more attention to quantity and not quality: The major disadvantage of this kind of piece-rate pay is that the workers try too hard to finish the task at hand, that the quality of work suffers and they give up substandard work (DellaVigna, 2020). In the attempt of trying to make more money, they often cut corners and even give up incomplete work hoping that this will go undetected. Things like this significantly affect the reputation and name of the company concerned. Planning for the future becomes rather challenging: As mentioned above, the workers often decide on their deadline, and they complete the work when they can, it is for this very reason that there is no uniformity in the work output and it becomes quite a challenging task to plan for the future of the company or even to make out a proper schedule of production . Finding and fixing on a reasonable piece cost is a rather challenging task: Another significant disadvantage of this system…
