On many occasions, visions fail when not implemented well. Some of the reasons related to vision failures are lack of unity. One should make sure everyone associated with the invention has the same direction in mind, and they agree on the same thing. Lack of endurance causes vision failure because some people give up on the way due to challenges. To achieve, one must know what they are after to go through it all. A vision may fail due to a lack of clarity, which means a lack of clear mind making the vision either too complicated or too ambiguous; set reasonable goals. Lack of focus contributes to failures in visions. After selecting the e vision, one puts their efforts into something other than the vision set. The vision of my dream organization “to craft the brands and choice of drinks that people love, to refresh them in body and spirit.” I feel the…
Social work Social work is an occupation that was started as a call to help the poor, the impoverished, and the disenfranchised of a speedily varying social order. It originated in volunteer determination to discourse the social question. By the start of the 20th century, working for social advancement had become a profession, and its advancement in the profession was achieved by 1930. These social workers helped in hospitals, schools, and children and family agencies. Jane Addams is a famous contributor to the history of social work and women’s suffrage in the USA and a worldwide peace campaigner. Her name is typically associated with the settlement house movement. She is the founder of Hull House, which was the first settlement house in the USA. Jane Addams worked tirelessly for the sake of the poor and oppressed. Addams was born on September 6, 1860, and died on May 28, 1935. .she was born in Cedarville, Illinois, as the youngest of eight children in her family. She was an English American whose descent was traced back to colonial Pennsylvania. At the age…
It’s any educational institution’s goal to produce independent, competent, and skilled individuals who will better the various fields they’ve chosen to partake in. A successful student is one who excels both academically and socially. This is achieved through cooperative learning, which uses groups to effectively ensure students work and grow both individualized and communal learning as a whole (David W and Roger T). This paper aims to show ways in which teachers can use cooperative learning methods to enhance all individuals’ learning experience. From the ancient proverb, “If you want to go fast walk alone. If you want to go far walk with others,” it has proved to be the basis of human survival since time immemorial. With this in mind, cooperative learning is key and split into three categories. The most effective method is combining all categories, which consist of formal, informal cooperative learning and cooperative base groups. This entails forming long term cooperative learning groups where students are required to be responsible for each member; this will ensure each member pulls their weight and eventually, it will cause…
Social work in eldercare Question 1 CPF The CPF Life-Long Income for the elderly is a life insurance scheme developed to insure an individual from the age of 65 from poverty and ill-health by formulating a monthly payout plan. From the CPF statistics, there are 4 million registered members as of 2020. Of these, at least 1.99 million are active members. The interviews conducted were of two male individuals aged 67 and 70, and one woman aged 72. The interviews attempted to understand the levels of awareness of the elderly on the CPF LIFE scheme and the questions or concerns they might have. One of the interviewees acknowledged that they are aware of the scheme is an active member who receives an annual, monthly income from the insurance firm. The older woman said she was not aware of the scheme until it automatically placed her on the CPF LIFE plan. Kate Chopin’s two short stories, “The Story of an Hour” and “Emancipation: A Life Fable,” are similar in that they share a common theme, the theme of freedom. In the “Story of an Hour,” Louise Mallard, who happens to be the main character, is overjoyed for being a free woman despite that her husband has died. Despite the fact that she loved her husband, she does only weep for a while for losing him, but the notion of not having to live for anyone but herself makes her overjoyed. Based on this, it is evident that Louise had endured some confinement in marriage, and it is like she had become a slave. Her marriage was oppressive, and this explains why she felt trapped and restricted by her husband. Like any other person, she became happy after learning of her husband’s death since she could now be free. On the other hand, “Emancipation: A Life Fable,” has a common theme in that it talks of an animal that was born in a cage. When it woke up, it found confining walls…
Social influence Social influence involves the ability of individuals to change their behaviour for them to fulfil the demands of their immediate environment. In social influence, a person’s attitudes and behaviours are altered depending on the beliefs and actions of others. Social influence is a large field in psychology that manifests in various forms. Some of the types of social influence include compliance, obedience, conformity, leadership, peer pressure, among others. Compliance is a form of social influence where a person acts in line with what others request them to do. Irrespective of the source of the request, if a person acts per the request, then it is said that the individual has complied with the request (Robert, 1998). When an individual asks a person to vote for a certain candidate during the upcoming election, and they vote for the said candidate, then it will be true to say that they complied with the request. Another type of social influence is conformity. Conformity involves a change in belief, actions or behaviour to fit in with the majority group. There are two…
Access to health care amenities is essential to attain good health. Elder people living in rural areas face a lot of barriers to access critical care. Ideally, older people in rural areas have a health right to access primary care, emergency care, and dental care. This access is important in overall disease detection, treatment, and prevention. The elderly population faces a big problem in transport to the health facility. In rural areas, health facilities lack adequate infrastructure, and at the same time, they are located at a far distance Jaclyn (Janis et al., 2019). Health illiteracy among the elderly due to lack of confidence in the quality of care to be provided makes a health challenge to the elderly (Janis et al., 2019). In remote areas, people rarely practice anonymity. Social Stigmatization and privacy issues tend to have a challenge in access to health care. Lack of health insurance coverage in rural puts a financial challenge to the elderly while seeking health care services. The needs that should be involved in the formulation of the core merits of health…
Social Control Many countries across the world practice social control in one way or another. Such controls can be through traditional and social beliefs or constitutions. Many countries’ common tool to control people’s behavior, whether in government or outside government, is the constitution’s use, which is often regarded as the supreme law. Therefore, any person deemed to have violated what is stated in the constitution may have to face specific consequences such as being charged in a court of law and consequently jailed for some specified time. Therefore, it is safe to state that social control is present everywhere, whether there is a democracy or not. Even in democratic countries, some norms must be followed by every citizen. Therefore, social control refers to the means and ways by which society ensures conformity to the laid out norms. Therefore, an individual is expected to internalize the social norms observed in their particular environment and make them part of their personality. This paper aims to explore the topic of social control, theories related to it, and an example of how it…
I can’t entirely agree with emotional robots’ production, for they might create ethical conflict with humans. A survey in EU nations indicated that the public has a negative attitude towards emotional robots and recommends that they not be used for the disabled, elderly, and children (Wachsmuth). Though the machines may demonstrate emotions, such people need a human connection for their well-being; therefore, emotional robots are unethical. Besides, human emotions are accompanied by non-verbal cues that machines might not demonstrate. I oppose the use of emotional robots as they will create a conflict of social rights. The primary purpose of robots is aiding humans. Producing emotional machines would mean they have a social status and rights, which would degrade humanity (Hewes). Consequently, machines with specific desires and emotions would deserve a particular position in the social structure. This change will cost society more as it must provide space for emotional activities such as leisure. The idea degrades human dignity, for it would erase the difference between humans and robots. Moreover, if they are granted this right, there is no if confidence…
Juvenile Risk Assessment The rate of criminal activities in the world is increasing steadily. It is a traumatizing truth that even youths are engaged in offenses that could turn to be a dangerous criminal notion in the future. Juvenile delinquency has been proved an issue of concern in the United States of America and across the world. In the USA, states have a slightly different way of carrying out risk level assessment for juvenile delinquency. According to the example given for Georgia state, several pieces of information need a second thought. For example, juvenile delinquency is influenced by numerous factors. Surprisingly, some of the risk factors are conditions that can be controlled by society, especially family. Peer pressure, family background, substance abuse, age, neighborhood, social influence, cognitive deficits, and schools are some of the commonly identified risk factors of juvenile delinquency. The highlighted factors are common yet daring. However, there is something that I feel is missing in this assessment. It is high time for the justice system to think about the role of law and government in juvenile delinquency.…
