Character Strengths Research Curiosity has been seen to increase happiness among individuals. According to a study by Sebastian (2019), positive psychology can be used to understand tourist satisfaction and how this can help define a happy tourist. In the study, the author aimed at identifying immediate satisfaction themes from on-site experiences of students and how the satisfaction contributed to the overall picture of a happy tourist. By analyzing various studies on how curiosity could influence the level of happiness among tourists, Sebastian (2009) analyzed student’s memorable experiences from Spain. He found that challenge related themes characterized the memories such that the more challenged one was, the more satisfied they were, and consequently happy. I found the study interesting and also agree with its findings since, from my own experiences, I have realized that the more satisfied I get from the challenges I encounter, the happier I get. Additionally, the study could not have been more appropriate since I have also visited two destinations, and the one that challenged me left more satisfied with the trip, which ultimately gave me the…
Virginia Company Declaration, 1620: The state of Virginia got declared on 22nd June 1620. The original declaration can get accessed through the Thomas Jefferson papers preserved at the library of congress manuscript division. Notably, the manuscript got written to address the people who occupied the territory, which came to be known as Virginia. The drafters of the declaration sought to establish a state and convert all its inhabitants to Christianity. The European immigrants who came explicitly from England felt that it was necessary for America and specifically Virginia to get transformed into a Christian land. The European settlers in Virginia convinced themselves that their presence in that territory would change it and lay a foundation for prosperity like the one that was getting witnessed across America’s new land. The declaration brings into fore several essential points that set into motion the formation of the state of Virginia. Firstly, the author of the resolution holds that the territory must get converted into a Christian land. The desire to make Virginia a Christian land shows that the founders believed in the Almighty…
Crime Analysis Part One Question 3: What is proof, its establishments, three levels, and circumstances under which each proof is applicable? The proof is an argument or evidence that shows the truth in a certain statement. Proof can be used in various situations including court trials, criminal investigations, and learning in schools. Also, “proof is established by evidence” (Steven G., 2018). Through available evidence about a certain assertion, the people involved can agree whether the statement is true or false depending on the evidence, thus proof. The three levels of proof are the probable cause, reasonable suspicion, and beyond reasonable doubts. Probable cause is used when a certain conclusion is more likely to be true thus the police can issue an arrest. Moreover, “reasonable suspicion is applicable in cases where the police need to stop and frisk” (Steven G., 2018). Reasonable suspicion applies when the police or those in authority believe that a certain situation exists. Furthermore, beyond reasonable doubts is used in court trials to prove that the accused is guilty of a crime. The level of proof is…
The Effect of Servant Leadership on Employees in an Organization: The Case of Chick-Fil-A Chapter One: Introduction 1.1 Research Aim and Rationale Leadership is the most important aspect whenever people are in a group. It is defined as the process through which an individual exerts influence over other people, directs them, inspires, and motivates them to achieve the goals and objectives of an organization (Simiyu, 1). In an organization, leadership is important for its success. According to Firestone (404), leaders provide and sell a vision to their employees. They clarify the organization’s goals and ensure that the employees work towards them. Leaders re in charge of coming up with the organization’s policies and procedures. As such, they determine the company’s culture, which has effects on employees’ performance and the performance of the organization as a whole. A very important role that leaders perform is that of encouraging and motivating their employees. In order to create and maintain sustainable businesses, one should understand the role that leadership plays in the lives of the employees and how it affects their personal…
Interactive video discussion The interactive video has taught me the importance of understanding every member’s needs in research and the importance of respecting the subject right since violation of any right can lead to the termination of a contract as a researcher. Additionally, the Code of Ethics must fully be observed as provided to ensure that all the principles are practiced to the subject which makes the research be achieved successfully (Jacobsen, 2017). Therefore, any researcher must understand all the factors that relate to social health, physical and mental as well as the wellbeing of the subject under study for instance in my study the new mothers. In my research, I will ensure that I follow all the legal protection as provided by the Belmont Report as well as ensure that all Code of ethics is followed thus providing an ethically based research study. My research topic is on postpartum depression therefore the most likely challenge that I will face is less cooperation from the new mothers since some of them are in the critical level of depression which raises…
Viruses: Rabies Virus There are five general stages of rabies fully recognized by human beings researchers. The five stages include incubation, prodrome stage, the acute neurologic period, coma and death. From the different analysis done by researchers from cats, rabid dogs and ferrets, it can be argued that rabies virus is introduced to the muscle of a new host through a bite from another infected animal (Fisher, Streicker & Schnell, 2018). After infection, the virus travels from the site of the bite to the brain of the animal moving through the animal nerves. At this stage, the animal does not seem to be ill or suffering from any infection (Fisher, Streicker & Schnell, 2018). Each of the five stages of rabies in animals has its severity to the new affected animal, and as a result, the stages are explained in the following paragraphs. Incubation: At this stage, the animal is bitten by an infected rabid animal. Prodrome stage: After the biting from the saliva of an infected animal, rabies enters the wound of the animal. Acute neurologic period: After…
CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION 1.1 Introduction Occupational health and safety issue are not frequently considered as contributing factors to the financial sustainability of the organizations. Compliance obligation with government regulations and laws is mostly the main focus of OHS policies. Perceptions of the correlation between effective OHS and the consequential economic benefits should be enhanced. The substantial financial benefits of good occupational health practice need to be always highlighted to organizations since the failure to acknowledge the importance of this relation will limit the effectiveness of interventions aimed at preventing disease and injury valid source specified.; Invalid source specified. Likewise, while the cost of ensuring safety is essential, unsafety conditions are also costly Invalid source specified. A reduction of accident numbers, damage, and improvements to the poor performance of HSE can lead to a reduction in costs. This matter can improve and increase the efficiency and the effectiveness of a business invalid source specified. The practice of protective workers over setting essential requirements in which the health and safety values are given ways to an approach involving owners of the construction companies…
Vulnerable Population A vulnerable population is a cluster of people that comprise the uninsured, low revenue, elderly, ethnic minority, teenagers, economical demerits plus individuals with chronic diseases. For instance, a vulnerable population is the Sentinelese situated at the north sentinel island located at the Indian ocean. The island was in possession of the Indians but was viewed as a sovereign state (Liss et al. 2019) They are considered to be vulnerable since they have no interaction with the rest of the planet. Their mode of lifestyle is hunting. They also communicate with their language and possess a population between 50-150, because of their lack of participation with the other people; they do not have immunity to common sickness like influenza. If a common cold infects them, it can wipe them all. India’s nation advocates for dominance through passing a law that is against the law for anyone to get within 3 miles radius near the island (Sasikumar, 2018). If anyone tries to get closer to the three radius rule, the island shooters have been mandated to shoot them using…
