Cultural Influences People from a dominant culture have specific factors that make them unique. I am a middle class, African American, a heterosexual, and a religious woman. These co-cultures define my identity and have notable impacts on my communication behaviors. From a personal perspective, I believe that these co-cultures influence how other people perceive me. Besides, they influence my attitudes towards other people from different cultures. Middle Class People from marginalized communities experience marginalization, which undermines their ability to communicate in an effective manner (Aamann and Olesen 442). Most people from the upper class tend to dismiss my thoughts when I try to share my ideas, even in topics that I have adequate background knowledge; this process undermines my ability to communicate effectively. African American Woman The gender roles, which people learn during their early ages through different means like interaction with parents, affect their peer socialization and communication strategies (McCornack 7). People from my community approach me as a friendly, empathetic person who has a strong passion for assisting people in dealing with their different challenges. Heterosexual Heterosexual individuals…
Furloughing in Athletics Utah athletics made a reasonable decision to furlough some of the athletes and employees. Unavoidable financial challenges due to the current pandemic forced Utah athletics to make difficult choices (Kostecka par. 2). This statement suggests that Utah athletics decided to reduce the running costs due to financial uncertainties. In this case, the management embraced furloughs of various lengths for each department employee. The decision to reduce the daily earning through furlough affected all employees, including executive cabinet and assistant coaches (Kostecka par. 2). This statement implies that Utah athletics did not target some people. Instead, the team adopted a fair financial approach to prevent a possible collapse due to the current pandemic. From a personal perspective, I feel that Utah athletics adopted a sustainable financial solution. The decision taken by Utah athletics makes sense despite the high unemployment levels during the current pandemic. For instance, the Utah athletic department would lose between $50 and $60 million (Kostecka par. 2). This statement implies that the athletic department would lose a large portion of its $90 million budget. The…
The American Constitution The American constitution contains the ideologies adopted by the founders and early leaders of the United States. Different scholars have varying views concerning the American Constitution and its effectiveness. John Locke argued that natural rights, like life, liberty, and owning property, are mandatory. Locke felt that all American citizens should access these fundamental rights voluntarily because they are unchallengeable. Besides, Locke believed that social contracts should exist between people and the government. Such thoughts imply that citizens should agree with the government on the most effective ways of protecting natural rights. Charles Montesquieu had different opinions concerning natural laws, citizens, and the government’s role in protecting its people. Montesquieu argued that the government acts as the institution that maintains law and order, political freedom, and controls property ownership. Montesquieu’s arguments reveal that people fear to break the law or engage in war. Therefore, Locke and Montesquieu have different views concerning natural rights and a democratic government’s role. Locke’s ideas seem relevant in the twenty-first century when democratic governance remains significant and pertinent. For instance, Locke describes a…
Effectiveness of low carb cycle in managing body weight For my first assignment for this class, I am working on a 4-6 page research paper on a current sports issue. I intend to use primary data in responding to the research questions because it will lead to credible information and resolutions. The research process will enhance my skills in gathering and analyzing data and making the necessary inferences from such studies. Besides, this approach will allow me to contribute to the advancements of knowledge in sports. For instance, the findings obtained from the study will lead to recommendations that athletes can use to ensure that they remain healthy. Alternatively, the results will identify the knowledge gaps that other scholars may merge through further research studies. From a different perspective, I will satisfy my interests in learning more about sports after completing this study effectively. The ideas learned will help me gather substantial evidence to expound my knowledge about sports and the methods people use to maintain their health. My topic for research is the “effectiveness of low carb cycles…
An analysis of a video or text An analysis of a video or text, in both cases, what the writer is simply doing is giving arguments that either supports or contradicts the author’s arguments. The strengths and weaknesses are also considered and whether or not the authors consider or have alternative viewpoints. As with a summary, the writer is not supposed or allowed to give their opinions of the video or text. But just providing a shorter statement with key points of the whole video or text. When analyzing and summarizing a documentary film and a written text that addresses the same subject. Assumption can be made that they are the same while they are not in any way. For instance, when you watch a documentary, you get to learn that oral interviews and histories convey the same factual information as a written text to some degree. However in comparison, when reading written texts, the reader gets a more pleasant experience because the reader is invited personally into the story. While in documentaries that combine images and sounds, the dramatized…
Aristotle notion of Induction Aristotle’s notion of Induction is one that moves from general notions to particular ones. He has a notion cause that is different from other modern notions. His motion is made up of four causes; the formal cause that makes things to be what they are, final cause that explains that everything in the world has a purpose and an end, material cause, and efficient or instrumental cause that is the cause of action and brings about the object in question. Induction is conceived by Aristotle as a logical process and is much influenced by science that was developed during his time. His induction form was as follows; first was the definitions of terms, then the axioms, and lastly, the truths of the science that corresponds to the theorems in geometry. Aristotle’s definitions constitute what he termed as the primary premises and have to be accurate, primary, before, and casual of the conclusions. The premises used syllogistically proceedings from the primary premises to different science conclusions.
Business communication There are various ways in which firms use to communicate with their clients. One of these ways is through the use of logos. The logos can be used to communicate with the clients what a firm offers. When the offerings increase, firms are usually forced to, as well, make changes to the logos as a way of passing such information to their customers. An example of a firm that is known to have undertaken such kind of transformation is amazon. The changes to the latter stated firm’s logo between 1994 and 2000 can be represented as follows. From the logo highlighted above, it is clear that the first logo, the original logo, had incorporated a river into the capital letter A, though this was not a success as the clients could not be able to easily relate this intention by the firm. In the current logo, which is known to be adopted in the year 2000, there is an arrow that runs from letter A to Z. The interpretation of this is that Amazon has everything that its…

the SDLC or agile method Yes, I would argue that the SDLC or agile method ensures more significant success in incorporating adequate security into application codes. SDLC method is critical in that it helps in incorporating adequate protection into an application because of the following reasons. It is instrumental in that its practices to integrate activities across the SDLC are to assist in discovering and reducing vulnerabilities early and hence results in effectively building security in. A secure SDLC process ensures that security assurance activities such as penetration testing code review and architecture analysis are an integral part of the development effort. The primary advantage of using a secure SDLC approach is more reliable software as security as a continuous concern, awareness of security consideration by stakeholders, early detection of flaws in the system, cost reduction as a result of early detection, and resolutions of issues. The agile method is used in incorporating adequate security into an application code is that it needs to move fast, and sometimes this means not immediately addressing a security concern. This results in the…
