                   Response to Peers Hello Peers, My response is drawn from our Module 5 discussion and focuses on the Patient Safety Climate in a Healthcare Organization (PSCHO) survey. This survey sought to analyze data on the perception of hospital safety and the incidences of readmissions in the hospital setting. According to Hansen, Singer, and Williams (2011), the study employed regression modeling and hypothesis testing. The research question focused on levels of hospital safety climate and 30-day readmission rate by using a 5 point Likert scale that ranges from strongly agree to strongly disagree. While the statistical tests used in the study are appropriate methods for it, the oversampling due to low response rates reduced the validity of the test. However, assessing the readmission rates based on the 122 safety climate factors using multiple regressions proved that the hypothesis was correct (Hansen, Singer & Williams, 2011). Though the last decade has been accompanied by tremendous development, the global Covid-19 pandemic has seen India suffer both in the health sector and economically. India has a triple burden of diseases, including infectious diseases, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) linked with lifestyle changes and pandemics. Their health infrastructure is overstretched and requires strengthening to face the twenty-first century (Chokshi, 2016). India’s poor health care condition can be attributed to various factors. Communicable diseases are a major health problem even in the coming decades threatening national and international health security. NCD’s contribute to 60% of India’s deaths, with 80% of those being from heart diseases, cancer, diabetes, and chronic pulmonary diseases (Narain, 2016). The maternal mortality ratio and infant mortality rate (IMR) are also alarmingly high. The IMR in 2015 was 40 per 1000 births against the global average of 33.6 per 1000 live births. Therefore, U.S. companies should pay their employees base pays higher than the market rates as money is easily a motivating factor. Increasing their base pay will make them want to accept foreign assignments and improve their performance. Finally, this will be beneficial to contemporary organizations in industries with intense competition (Bai, n.d.). Money works as the most dominant and important factor in motivating employees. Health care spending in the United States is highly concerned as it is higher than in any other high-income country. However, efforts targeted towards reforming the U.S. healthcare have influenced regulating health care spending. In 2016, the U.S. had spent about twice as much as 10 high-income countries on medical care and performed less good on many health outcomes (Papanicolas et al. 2018).
