Cape Town Water Crisis Executive summary In 2018, the cape town ran out of water supply, and the residents, about 4 million, found it difficult to get clean water for domestic and industrial use. In response to the high demand for water, the city management came up with stringent regulations to ensure people get a little water to use. For the five months of water shortage, the city residents were only getting 25 liters per day. The water was collected from other sources in different parts of the city—the crises emanated from social, political, and physical factors. In the first place, the town experienced a prolonged throughout, which was not witnessed before making the main dam dry. The drought might have resulted from climatic changes the country had been experienced in the recent past. The second factor was a continuous increase of about 79%, which did not keep pace with the water supply. As the population was overgrowing, the city management failed to increase water supply to cater to rising demand. Lastly, political factors might have played a significant…
Summary This week’s summary about an article with regression concerns an article that seems to seek the negative and positive implications on consumer spending in the period of unemployment. In this article, the research question is, “What are they implications (whether positive or normative) that are associated with consumer spending during unemployment?” Another research question associated with the paper is, “how does consumer spending evolve during an employment spell?” the author seeks to understand what happens when the employment rate lowers. Does the consumption increase, decrease, or even remain the same? From an economic point of view, it is expected that unemployment will trigger a reduction in the level of income. Due to the above fact, it is expected that households will not have enough money to attain the desired and previously attained bundle of goods in the previous budget line; therefore, reduction in consumption is more likely. One of the main methods used in research is papers is the hypothesis test. In this, formulation of to be proved statements regarding the research is key, proving come on later as…
Name of the Student Instructor’s Name Course Title/Name Date The common issues between the front and back of the house Some of the common issues between the front and back of the house include: kitchen staff are not informed about a rush and are not ready for the onslaught of tickets, and a customer’s food is prepared, but the front of the house is not aware. When there is a conflict between the front and back of the house, the customers’ dining experience’s quality will be affected. If the dispute is not solved on time, the restaurant will lose more customers due to its low quality. More resources are misused when there is poor communication between the two areas. The kitchen staff will prepare a dish, but the front house complains that it is the wrong dish. The back house will defend themselves by saying they prepared the meal according to the ticket. The meal will be a waste since it is not what the customer requested. Assigning servers in the kitchen makes them more invested in the cooking process…
The Manifest Destiny and Its Impact on North America Manifest destiny, a phrase coined in 1845, is the idea that the United States is destined- by God, its advocates believed- to expand its dominion and spreads democracy and capitalism across the entire North American Continent. People thought of it as the official policy of territorial expansion; the Idea that God blessed America to become an Ocean bound republic in the 19th Century, but the truth is Presidents and secretaries of States didn’t use the phrase “Manifest Destiny.” This was a slogan by a journalist named John L, O’Sullivan, who invented it in 1845 when writing editorials about Texas’s annexation and the boundary dispute with Britain over the Oregon territory. He said it was blessed by providence; it was the country’s manifest destiny to become a Continental power. The phrase was used with critics more than supporters. This is because a lot of Northerners thought it was a code for spreading slavery. The manifests’ destiny advocates felt that they had failed people who believed in the territorial expansion. That said, they…
Minority stress and sexual behavior among black women Institute of affiliation Student name Date of submission The title of the study is relevant to the issue being examined, and it sets up the tone of the study and what the reader should expect. Though the author has included a literature review, it is very brief and does not give an adequate theoretical background of the study. Also, the literature review does not critique the past studies neither does it establish weaknesses and disagreement of areas required to be studied. The researcher has included a well-thought problem statement that underlines the need to undertake the research. It includes descriptors and variables (sexual behavior). Indeed, the researcher goes on to underline the conceptual framework for the study that is based on social-ecological theory. The researcher also provided a clear methodological approach that the study will follow to achieve its objectives. For instance, he states that the study will be based on non-experimental, descriptive,…
Clinton’s strategy of engagement and enlargement Introduction Clinton’s strategy of engagement and enlargement had better outcomes compared to George Bush’s strategy of primacy. Though both strategies had flaws and ideologies that were not perfected as per their speeches, they also had commonalities. However, Bush’s strategy was heavily challenged by endemic credibility issues. It focused on the issue of the Soviet Union without much focus on significant American priorities. On the other hand, Clinton employed multilateralism instead of the aggressive unilateralism approach applied by Bush. The world felt more comfortable, especially Americans, since Clinton advocated for peaceful engagement with other nations to uphold democracy and human rights. During Clinton’s administration, the USA acted like the big brother and the global policeman, ensuring that there is global stability while still putting Americans’ interests first (Lobel & Ratner, 2013). While Clinton fostered peaceful co-existence, Bush flaunted U.S. primacy. Its confrontational disposition even worsened the US-European relations since the rest of the world was suffocating under his perpetuated imperialism. The main aim of Clinton’s strategy of engagement and enlargement was to transform the containment…

System-based practice requires interpretation of the current changes and development in the modern-day nursing to deliver quality leadership skills leading according to the modern-day standards (Plack, Goldman, Scott, Pintz, Herrmann, Kline, Thompson, & Brundage, 2018). The army values. As stated by (Gilchrist et al.,) the United States, the Army is trained to comply with the Seven Army Principles, which acts as the basic guidelines. In the acronym ‘LDRSHIP,’ they are broken down and shortened for Loyalty, Responsibility, Love, Selfless Devotion, Honor, Honesty, and Personal Courage. These 7 Army principles are taught from day one and are expected to recite them first. They are then educated to live by them. Many of these seven ideas resonate with each other and play a significant role in our troops’ lives. These 7 Army Principles also play a significant role in our personal affairs outside of the Army. People often do not know how strong these ideals are in how someone looks up to men and women who are adequately fortunate to serve; we see the state. The paper aims at discussing the army values. Loyalty, responsibility, respect, selfless service, dignity, honesty, and personal bravery are the Seven Values. Army principles are vital, and direct soldiers and leaders in their professions to do what is appropriate for day-to-day operations.…
Environmental issues as seen on TV or movies I recently watched a BBC Natural History Program, the Blue Planet Documentary. The documentary focuses on narrating and illustrating how mankind has influenced the world’s greatest oceans through climate change and, more especially, pollution. The narrator explains the reductive and destructive nature of anthropogenic activities, giving a comparison of what the oceans looked like before pollution and how pollution has tampered with the natural state. Pollution not only affects the appearance of the ocean but critically harms the creatures that inhabit the ocean and depend on it for survival. The unfortunate part is that humans are not making any effort to mitigate the situation; some are ignorant and do not even attach any importance to the prevention of pollution and environmental degradation. The documentary’s overall message was that humans need to take immediate action and prevent pollution because it is the leading cause of climate change, which has caused the extinction of species and destruction of the ozone layer. According to the documentary, oceans maintain a balance in the ecosystem and sustains…
