Give two examples of a company and explain how they used the Rawlsian theory of distributive justice in an organizational context. Provide a source for example. Amazon Company perfectly abides by the Rawlsian theory of distributive justice; which dictates that society has an obligation to help individuals in need. For example, the company via its initiative-Empowering Diverse Entrepreneurs- helps its stakeholders particular creators and builders to successfully achieve self-satisfaction in their entrepreneurial journey (Amazon, 2020). The entrepreneurs are equipped with relevant managerial skills and are also provided with resources. Additionally, the company also supports women significantly by empowering them in their career journey via its affinity group entitled Amazon Women in Engineering (AWE). Due to the company’s measures to implement the Rawlsian theory of distributive justice, it has gained an admirable employer branding. Similarly, Microsoft Company also practices the Rawlsian theory of distributive justice by meeting the needs of society. For example, the company leverage partnering with nonprofit organizations, such as WTO to avail basic needs to people who are victims of disaster, refugees, and minority…

Goodwill Goodwill in accounting is an intangible asset that occurs when an established company is absorbed by a buyer. Goodwill illustrates properties that are not recognizable individually. In other words, Goodwill is a long-lasting, intangible commodity that represents the company’s credibility and reputation. Goodwill cannot be won immediately, but rather is created by the company’s long-term operation, leading to a positive effect on society and stakeholders. Different types of goodwill are available, Institutional (Enterprise) or Technical (Personal). Institutional goodwill can be characterized as the intrinsic property that, without the intervention of a particular owner, will continue to ensure the organization. Professional goodwill can be characterized as the intangible benefit attributed solely to the company owner’s activities or credibility. The main distinction between the two forms of goodwill is whether the goodwill is transferable without a non-competition clause upon selling to a third party. In almost every area of your life, building goodwill among people is significant. Spreading goodwill helps people feel good for you, encouraging them to extend goodwill to others. In industry, building goodwill will allow you to create…
cinema According to this study, the cinema is the new classroom because the films help students to learn and get essential information concerning the world and understand how to interact with it while exploring the peak of understanding the social strata of the school life, this is through the understanding of gender, race, religion and economic issues in the society. The movie examines a group of individuals whose stories are gaining the attention of the mainstream media. The movie director Sean in the movie Tangerine goes deeper into the issues of the transgender individuals in Los Angeles by understanding the vulnerabilities, strength and the severe problems of the character. Transgender individuals ought to be starting to lead the pack in recounting our accounts. From Scarlett Johansson’s brief endeavour to play recorded change, Dante Gill, to Matt Bomer’s cringe execution as a swishy trans lady in Anything, stories that are trans in the name, however, focus cis characters (and oblige cis crowds) are immovably outdated; credible accounts made and coordinated by trans individuals are the flood of things to come. Seoul Virus Seoul Virus is caused by rats as a milder type of Hantavirus. The virus belongs to the family of Orthohantavisus that causes Hantavirus hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome. The virus is mostly found in Rattus species rats (Murphy, et al, 2019). Human s can be infected through exposure to a wide range of body fluids such as urine, saliva, blood. It is also transmitted through exposure to aerosolized feces of rats or bites from rats that are inflected. The natural host for Seoul Virus is the Rattus noregiscus and the black Rattus rattus. However, the majority of people develop symptoms within the first two weeks after exposure. The symptoms of the Seoul Virus range from mild to server manifestations. Therefore, in severe forms of the disease, a patient tends to show renal syndromes as well as bleeding. There are also apparent infections that…
Public opinion Public opinion matters and is important in American politics. For instance, for the politicians and the American government to craft a compelling message in campaigns or an advocacy strategy, it has to know where the public stands on the issue at hand. Without the understanding of the ideas and opinions of the public, the crafted message or strategy may not be appealing to the target audience, which, in this case, is the members of the public. Therefore, public opinion matters and helps in shaping American politics. Moreover, public opinion has been found to play a significant role in influencing government action. An example is given of the famous Black Lives Matters movement, which was a protest movement against the killing of George Floyd. In this movement, public opinion was expressed in such a way that women, men, and children regardless of age or color were raising their voices for Floyd. This was after an attempt by the government to seem to justify the killings. The opinion of the public, in this case, is what pushed the responsible agencies…
the right to vote In any democracy, the right to vote is fundamental, meaning that all citizens have the right to exercise free will in deciding who they entrust their leadership. In the United States, the same case exists, with all citizens having the right to vote. However, not all states are allowing everyone to vote, with a massive bloc of felons not being allowed to vote in some states. In the state of Florida, Felons are required to pay exorbitant fees after completing their terms of a sentence so as to get back their right to vote, which bars many felons from casting the ballot. Proponents of the idea of barring felons from voting argue that based on the history of the crime of the offenders, they should not be allowed to vote. However, felons should have the right to vote, because denying them a chance to vote in the state of Florida is going against their human and constitutional rights. Supporters discouraging felons from voting, state that offenders cannot be trusted to vote based on their criminal past.…
Peer critique reflection. A suggestion I accepted from the per critiques is making the resume more consistent. Issues regarding the listing of dates, descriptions, and verb consistency were a little off in the old resume, and this needed correcting. Therefore, I opted to have all the verbs in the same tense and ensured describing everything clearly and concisely. Additionally, I made sure the date formats were similar throughout the resume. With this, the work is now more consistent and clearer to anyone reading it. Another suggestion I accepted was the suggestion that the letter’s format should be in a professional business full block letter format. The original work was in an unorthodox and required correction. However, I did not accept the suggestion that the resume had longwindedness. The work was brief and straight to the point and no unnecessary language was used. What I learned from critiquing other peer documents was that the most important thing is to ensure proper formatting is followed and the use of clear language with brief sentences. I would recommend this practice to other students…
Literary analysis of the piece ‘The Mistress of Sydenham Plantation This paper carries out the literary analysis of the piece ‘The Mistress of Sydenham Plantation’ while focusing on the styles and themes employed. This work is unique as it favors the use of imagery and personification to paint a vivid picture from which the reader can grasp the events of the literary piece. The theme highlighted as among the most important is the circle of life which pits the young against the old and depicts an example of the whole life cycle. Therefore, this paper will provide a brief analysis of these factors and focus on quotes from the text that prove the analysis. The imagery is well detailed throughout the text and gives the reader a feeling as if they are participants of the work. Within the opening paragraphs, the writer describes the wind as having ‘reckless hilarity as March could give to her breezes, but soft and spring-like, almost early-summer-like, in its warmth.’ The writer attempts to give the reader a more vivid description of the exact feel…
Tara The society that is portrayed in Educated by Tara Westover is one that is full of social issues. Some of the social issues that are experienced in this society include poverty, education, mental health, lack of resources, health care, and other issues such as gun control. Of all the many issues affecting Tara Westover, mental health supersedes them. Tara recounts her experience growing up a s possibly one of the worst ordeal. Nothing seemed to work for Tara and this troubled her a lot mentally. She knew no peace, love, and basic human needs growing up that she had given up on life. As opposed to many children who are raised in proper families with love, care, and support; Tara was raised on survival. Tara’s path is more of an escape from her reality rather than a memoir. She recounts the moments she wished of a better life that was not full of trials and tribulations. To Tara, Mormon was not a place she grew up, she did not even affiliate it with home. Tara considered Mormon as a…
