Analysis of Bibliotheca Alexandria
First impression & how affect visitor’s experience
My first time to visit Bibliotheca Alexandrina site was an amazing experience of my life. Trying to locate the site was not very difficult for me as the Royal Library is located at the Shore of Mediterranean sea (Bibliotheca Alexandrina) and could be vividly seen from a distance. I just thought it is a normal library but later on, I realized it contains a lot of visual elements which are aimed at educating people about Egyptian culture as well as the culture of other people globally. The first impression of the site affects visitors who are usually interested in particular information and may lure them to visit the place frequently or be the last time for one to visit the place. From my experience, the first experience influenced me to think about going back to learn more about the different cultures that we have globally. The rich content of cultures in the library highlighted through visual elements, text publication, audio and videos are some of the strength of the site.
Management of traffic/crowd flow
In any business people will always flow there depending on the number and quality of services offered. There was a good flow of people entering and living the library while others were busy checking out the library collections, this demonstrate that most of the people are usually satisfied with the rich information that may be of benefit to them that is present in the library. People from different culture were present, and the presence of children could also be seen, another group of people that could be seen were students. The flow is one of the most outstanding components that all people will strive to achieve in business and in this regard Bibliotheca Alexandrina was doing very good. The crowd or rather flow management of people at Bibliotheca Alexandrina is up to standard and the management team always does its best to ensure there is no crowding and all vital equipment of the library are free from any human interference that may lead to damage or loss of property. Bibliotheca Alexandrina has tapped on content to ensure new visitors or rather people who visit the site get access to information. For instance, the publications, audio, video and photo gallery content attract a lot of people who usually find visiting the site as the best experience.
Important elements of the site
The most important elements that caught my eyes is that Bibliotheca Alexandrina site has rich cultural content which targets not only Egyptian culture but also other diverse cultures globally. The information is well elaborated through the use of texts, colour, audio, video and also the online section which also highlights main events that are important to people. Lastly, the content of the site gives reader’s once in a lifetime experience since it is rich in information and also it is an interactive place that one meets people from diverse background to also share information.
Logical and effectiveness of exhibits
Events are critical in the way an organization operates, and they demand a suitable plan to market them effectively. The events are adverts from same or different companies aimed to inform potential clients about an upcoming activity or an event. For instance, the site has two events realism work and African union model. The events are well structured since they have the date and location of all events. The exhibits are designed to educate the targeted audience about a certain issue. Although the events are well articulated, I think the events can be highlighted in a better way with visual display elements outside the library and also several adverts in the street of Cairo to attract more audience. The events also should be well marketed online through various social media platforms to attract more clients since they are online events.
Targeted market
Bibliotheca Alexandrina site targets the readers interested in learning as well as understanding the culture of people from diverse backgrounds. The site contains information that brings together people from different cultures to interact and exchange information about their culture through sharing information in addition to acting as a hub of information through Egyptian Library and opening the forum to international readers. The site appeals to visitors through the publication of information that links people from diverse backgrounds to learn and adore different culture through the use of texts, photos, audio as well as face to face interaction.
Manager’s message
The manager of the site is in support of the objectives and goals of the firm that would lead to an outstanding source of information hub that brings together people from diverse backgrounds to learn and also understand the culture of different people. One of the managers claims that the site is geared towards achieving its main objective of b a leading library not only in Egypt but also penetrating throughout the region and also international. The site targets to promote diversity through various books, manuscripts, and periodicals digitally to appeal to a mass audience across the world. He also appealed to people from diverse cultural backgrounds to visit Alexandria Bibliotheca to learn more about their culture and other cultures.
Most/ least appealing aspect of the site
The photo gallery is one of the most appealing aspects that I noticed when I visited the site. The collections of photos depicting different events that have happened contain a lot of information presented visually. In my opinion, the information attracts more audiences since seeing is believing and most of the readers will want to associate themselves with such photos. On the other hand, the least appealing component of the site is the sitting arrangement in the library. Despite attracting a crowd of people, it is essential for the firm to invest in expanding on the accommodation concept. The library should have a conducive environment that would allow people to feel comfortable and more relaxed to freely interact, learn and achieve the targeted intention of visiting the site.
Worth visiting site
Visiting Alexandria site was an amazing experience, and I would wish to return to Egypt to explore more. The library packages the books, periodicals, and manuscripts in consideration of their targeted audience. I noticed that the library is international since they use two different languages, i.e., English and Arabic. I enjoyed visiting the site, and the information that I found out was also appealing and suitable for people who want to learn about different cultures.
Comparison
Bibliotheca Alexandrina site contains a lot of cultural information that targets readers through the use of texts, photos, and videos. The site is professionally presented with quality photos, news, events and the mission and vision well elaborated. The books, manuscript, and periodicals are strategically placed at a central place and also contains information of culture of people from diverse backgrounds, therefore, appealing to more people (Bibliotheca Alexandrina). While Greco-Roman Museum which is a competitor of Bibliotheca Alexandrina offers Egyptian artifacts when Roman, Greek and the civilization era in Egypt. The historical learning hub presents a lucrative opportunity for the visitors to learn more culture of Egyptians.
Therefore it is more inclined to historical facts of Egyptians as compared to Alexandria Bibliotheca that opens the world to all cultures to interact and exchange information about their diverse backgrounds. Greco-Roman Museum is also small in size as compared to Bibliotheca Alexandria, therefore, is limited to the number of visitors which also affects the revenue collected (Egypt Today).
