Air Plant Blooming
The Air plant needs a lot of care as it makes your room so beautiful. In its lifetime, the air plant may undergo some stages, such as blooming. Naturally, air plant blooms once in its lifetime when it reaches the maturity stage. There are several air plant species, and they differ in maturity and depending on their environment. They always flower with different styles and produce beautiful flowers that make your site more pleasant to stay around. Just like the other plants, the air plant has a sign to flower. The flowers emerge from the center as small buds and later grows to inflorescence, the large flower.
During its process of blooming, it also requires enough water that sustains it to produce beautiful flowers. The conditions to keep its health neat should also be considered.
Since air plants are in different species, the environmental conditions mark their behavior to bloom; those fed well may bloom even before the maturity stage. They don’t need a lot of light at the period of flowering as they may be affected. Their flowers should be cared for as they will produce plantlets for the next generation.
After blooming, the air plant starts developing some other parts that mark the new generation. Especially at the leaves’ base, there develops new features called pups and grow later to be a large air plant. The leaves now start drying up and fall off, leaving and giving the pups space to grow. The plantlets or pups later grow to new air plants, and as they reach the maturity stage, they go through the same process of blooming, therefore completing the cycle.
If you want to fasten the new generation’s growth process, you can cut off the air plant’s emerged flower tract. Doing this will hasten the off stages of the air plant. Some spices may have 1 to 3 numbers of offset in their lifetime.
