Economic and social disadvantage, poverty, and several related conditions weaken students’ academic excellence. Concentrating children with these challenges in economically and racially homogenous schools lower their performance even further. The capacity to end this condition by incorporating schools is staggered by historical ignorance. Policymakers handle the problem from the perceptive of school is due to de facto rather than de jure thinking. Nonetheless, school segregation is an outcome of racially motivated policy and statue and government-based discrimination. The consequences of government action and school segregation echo the current and deliberate constitutional violations that call for an effective solution.

Racial segregation intensifies attainment gaps between the White and the Black Children because it puts together students with adverse economic and social problems in the same school. Currently, racial separation characterizes each metropolitan region of the U.S and is accountable for the most adverse economic and social challenges. It creates an achievement gap and projects lower life expectations for the Black people. Further, it has corrupted the criminal justice system. Nevertheless, all these are believed to be consequences of personal preferences, economic circumstances, and private discrimination. Nevertheless, the truth of the matter is that the federal government facilitated the development of policies supporting segregation.

For example, in 2007, the United State Supreme Court made school integration more impossible when it banned the Kentucky, Seattle, and Louisville, Washington, school districts from creating a racial balance a feature in allocating students in a situation where candidates’ number passes available seats (Liu, 277). The majority opinion by chief justice John Roberts would refer to student classification by race as unconstitutional unless generated to oppose the effects of categorical rules that separated students by race.

In conclusion, state, federal, and local policies were formulated to isolate the races and their consequence today. One of the effects of such policies is school segregation. Therefore, to end school segregation requires policymakers to revise the policies linked to the segregation of Blacks and Whites.
