Barangay Butong Women’s Association
The activity started at around 10:00 in the morning with an opening prayer followed by the singing of the National Anthem lead by one of the members of the Butong women’s Association. After the preliminaries, Hon. Alfredo Cabasag – Captain of Barangay Butong, began the activity with the opening remarks, acknowledging the DTI-ZSP personnel’s presence, the members and Officers of the Barangay Butong Women’s Association.
Continuing the activity, Ms. Marry Ann Ybanez – the President of Butong Women’s Association, gave a short overview of their organization. After which, Mr. Rodolfo Mabalot, the BDD Division Chief, began the orientation with the following topics:
ü Rationale, purpose, and objectives of the Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo sa Barangay and why they and their barangay were chosen to become the program’s pilot beneficiaries.
ü The role of the Barangay Development Council in implementing and monitoring the program as well as helping the DTI and other line agencies to bring forth the programs and services of the government.
ü Programs and services of DTI through the Negosyo Centers emphasize the importance and benefits of registering one’s business name in DTI.
After this, He asked who the beneficiaries were among the beneficiaries and asked what they would like to receive for the livelihood kits. Three people raised their hands, and 2 of them are own a grocery store and one rice retailing.
On the other hand, Ms. Jeanette A. Borja of the DTI-ZSP Office shared some tips and techniques to help them manage and prosper their business. Together with giving snacks to the participants.
The second part of the activity was the profiling of the beneficiaries. They asked fill-out the following:
ü Client Profile Monitoring form – they provided their necessary information as well as of their business
ü Simplified Action Plan – a simple tool that entails how they managed their business and the materials they need to revive or augment their current business. This form also includes a portion of basic financial flow of their current business.
ü Pledge of Commitment – this is the form where they can see and acknowledge how much they are going to receive in the form of a livelihood kit and not cash amounting to 5,000.00 pesos, and commit that they are going to follow the guidelines before and after receiving the program.
