World War II

Despite many nations falling during World War II, Britain remained steadfast and refused to surrender. It had advantages over German in its anti-invasion plan that led to its victory. Through the leadership of Churchill, the country organized and reinforced its military strength (Burliegh). Britain had more advantages than Germany that included its initial victory of the Royal Air Force (RAF), the German government undermining its military, and possession of superior fighting equipment.

The victory of the Royal Air Force delayed the German attack on Great Britain and could eventually lead to victory in the war. German’s delayed their invasion on Great Britain because of Britain’s power and control of its airspace. When the Nazi air force attacked Britain, the battle was solely fought on air by the Royal Air Force pilots and support crews, and they won. Contrary to German’s expectation, RAF took control of the British airspace and defeated their enemies.

Besides, Britain thrived in the war because Hitler had undermined its military strength. Initially, Hitler concentrated on conquering France. When France eventually surrendered, he had no intention to engage Britain in a war because he was certain that it could automatically surrender (Gilbert). It is worth mentioning that Hitler had the chance to plan the war and could defeat Britain. However, it turned out the country started to prepare for war as early as when German took forced France to submission. As a result, the German’s advances to Great Britain were met with a coordinated resistance that eventually led to victory for Britain.

The possession of superior equipment also aided the British in the war against German. The British did not expect that they could have superior equipment than the Germans until the attack came. For example, the German bombers could not sustain the attack on Britain because they lacked the capacity for bomb load that could attack permanently. The German army also showed vulnerability that contributed to the victory of Britain.
