Finding a Voice

The most significant thing in life is to know what you want to achieve and how you will attain what you want. This is because knowing what you really need will push you to develop a strategy predominantly meant to achieve your outlined goals. It is not until when you realize your purpose in the world that you start living. This paper shall outline how a Kenyan named Boniface Mwangi acquired the courage to address the political elites about the negative impact of corruption and the sufferings associated with post- 2007 general elections violence in Kenya.

Though Boniface was primarily obligated to document the ill brought by the post-2007 elections violence, he was disturbed by the fact that he had the first-hand experience of these non-human barbaric acts (Mwangi, 2014). He recounts that he had observed all kinds of ill being melted to his fellow Kenyan. This did not go well with him, especially when he noticed that the political actors whom the election disputes revolved around decided to bury their hatchets and forgets the suffering that the poor Kenyans had gone through during this post-election violence.

In his attempts to find his voice, he organizes his friends to capture President Kibaki’s attention during the Madaraka holiday celebration on first June 2009. Though his friends skipped the events, Boniface was not deterred to air what was disturbing him (Mwangi, 2014). In fact, he addressed the president to do all that is within his power to stop corruption and aid the post-election violence victims. This did not go well with the police who arrested him, beat him up, and jailed him, but after all, he had accomplished his purpose of airing his concern (Mwangi, 2014). He even goes ahead to establish a non-profitable organization, PAWA254, that uses arts and graphics to ridicule the evil that might be happening in the country.

Sincerely speaking, this is among the best motivational film that I ever watched. It has instilled me with the urge to realize my purpose no matter how hard this might be. Additionally, it has taught me to stand alone when the need to do so arises rather than living with the repercussions of fear.
