Stereotypes and prejudice affect the way people respond to each other in multicultural populations.
Prejudice is becoming a threat in every aspect of its occurrence. For instance, learning institutions and access to healthcare are more threatened by prejudices between one group of people and the other.
Prejudice has become a problem in different ways. Firstly, it acts as a primary impediment to progress in education, healthcare, and leadership. Students have been affected by the existing prejudices in schools with minority groups. The case is more commonly featured in schools with a minority of black students. Access to healthcare services is also affected. Prejudices affect health in several ways. For instance, it has contributed to high levels of morbidity and mortality among the blacks. Other ethnic minorities face similar challenges, especially in learning institutions and healthcare facilities.
Prejudice occurs in a set of environment that favors one group over the other. Culture is, therefore, viewed as shared beliefs that focus on the superiority of one group over the other.
Prejudice is expressed through racism and discrimination. Bing a black student, I often encounter instances of racism. The case is often directed to blacks and other minority groups.
I was feeling prejudiced by the majority groups. The rising trends of discrimination in healthcare facilities and learning institutions have contributed to higher prejudice. Discovering these perceptions offered an opportunity to further identify with various issues that directly influenced other minority groups. Racism has affected people in different ways. It involves the efficiency of service delivery and affects the way people approach problems affecting people’s social lives. Prejudiced is further expressed through communication and the way a person responds to different issues.
